Hi
Moving on

3  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed

18  And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

These biessing were given to Abraham and refer to Christ the whole earth will be blessed through him and he is the seed of Abraham who will come out of Israel.

And here we have conformation in the NT

1  The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham

5  Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen

So we see that the lineage of Christ can be traced back to Abraham through David Gods Plan for blessing the world began with Abraham and has been going forward ever since and will culminating in Christs second coming.

Love and Peace
Dave

ahh - that's another story of a real man / person - and God relationship.

Genesis 16:4  New Living Translation

So Abram had sexual relations with Hagar, and she became pregnant. But when Hagar knew she was pregnant, she began to treat her mistress, Sarai, with contempt.

hence  Ishmael...

You now bring in the old "without faith you cannot be saved" alongside - this story and you get confused - hence so many forum   questions.. it's the old 3 am question"

"Why did God allow hagar to be pregnant" - while Abrams wife could not conceive ?"

This is the man "abram" - later Abraham- who was promised  to be - like the sands on the beach and the stars in the sky..

Yet the wife "Sarah" suggested that Abram sleep with hagar ?.

You see this is real life here.. [in that day it was important to produce an heir] that had to be a "boy"

So we have the underlying question here [you wil be saved by faith]

Why did God make sarah pregnant - while sarah was unable - neither of them eally believed - [that they were able to produce a child] as sarah was 90 years old..

Why would you believe and have faith at that age to produce a child ?

It's a bit like the old Lazarus being raised from the dead through faith ?

What faith - he was dead !

Hi TJ
Thank you for your reply of course Isaac was the child of the promise and the will of God not the will of man.

Next
God said, ?No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.
Genesis 17:19 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.17.19.ESV

But God said to Abraham, ?Be not displeased because of the boy and because of your slave woman. Whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for through Isaac shall your offspring be named.
Genesis 21:12 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.21.12.ESV

Then in the genealogy of St Luke we have conformation of the above

the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor,
Luke 3:34 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/luk.3.34.ESV

So all through scripture we see God working to make all these prophecies  work so we know we can always rely on his word to come to pass but we need to have Pacience all things will come to pass according to his will.

Love and Peace

 Hi
Wonder were all the bible buddies have gone must be my boring posts :D

Moving on
I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near:  a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth.
Numbers 24:17 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/num.24.17.ESV

What a wonderful prophecy and description of our Lord and how very true he did come out of Israel and this is confirmed in the genealogy of mathew.

Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
Matthew 1:2 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.1.2.ESV

We know God changed the name of Jacob to Israel so all these boring genealogies have a purpose they prove the lineage of Christ we can follow the line until he is born out of Israel as the son of man.

Hi
Moving on

The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler?s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.
Genesis 49:10 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.49.10.ESV

Here we are told that its through the tribe of Judah the the Christ shall come and the people  would be obedient to him.
Again we have a quote from genealogy

33  Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda

14  For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood

So here we have proof that our Lord came out of Judah ite marvellous how his genealogy can be traced all the way back to the beginning he is the beginning of creation through him all things are created.

Love and Peace
Dave

Hi
Moving on
A prophecy given to king David.

??The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you: 12 When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. 15 But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before meb]" style="font-size: 0.625em; line-height: normal; position: relative; vertical-align: text-top; top: auto; display: inline;">; your throne will be established forever

Here we have proof from God that the Christ shall come from the line of David he will be the son  of God and he would have an everlasting kingdom.
What a wonderful prophecy what great confidence it gives us knowing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and through  his death and resurrection he has opened the door to eternal life.

A few proof text from the NT I forgot yesterday

32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob?s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.

3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life [was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power

 Hi TJ
Thank you for your reply if you want to know how to work your x-Box ask any 5 year old

Moving on

      Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;   you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;
Psalm 45:6-‬7 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.45.6-7.ESV

And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,
Daniel 2:44 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/dan.2.44.ESV

Aren't the promises of our Heavenly Father fantastic telling us in advance of everything  that will come to pass in the future here we have Gods promise of the everlasting kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ and we also have conformation of this in the NT

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.?
Luke 1:32-‬33 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/luk.1.32-33.ESV

But of the Son he says,  ?Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.  You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.?
Hebrews 1:8-‬9 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/heb.1.8-9.ESV

How wonderful is our God who gives us all these wonderful assurances of his Son and what he would do.

Love and Peace
