]Hi
Moving on

14  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel

This is a prophecy from Isaiah telling of the coming of our Lord and by what name he would be known this being confirmed in the NT

22  Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us

Its wonderful that we can rely 100% on the prophecies of God not forgetting there are prophecies still to be fulfilled.
The prophecy we all are waiting for is  the return of our Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory and the beginning of his millennial reign let us pray it will come soon.

Love and Peace
Dave

Hi
Moving on

11 ?When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and out of Egypt I called my son

Of course in the first instance this was said about Israel and Israel when God brought them out of Israel was a whole nation not jest one man.
The above verse is also applied to Christ and is confirmed in the NT.

14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: ?Out of Egypt I called my son

So we see here that both Israel and Christ are God's sons you may say that Israel was a nation and Christ only one man this is true but we need to look at it from a different angle when Christ returns he will take out of the world all those who belong to him and it will be a great nation with our Lord as the head King of Kings Lord of Lords let us pray that day will dawn soon.

Thy kingdom come thy will be done.

Love and Peace

Hi
Next prophecy

15 This is what the Lord says:

?A voice is heard in Ramah,
    mourning and great weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children
    and refusing to be comforted,
    because they are no more

This prophecy is telling us what would happen to all the young children that were born in and around the time of the birth of Christ and we have conformation in the NT

16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:

18 ?A voice is heard in Ramah,
    weeping and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children
    and refusing to be comforted,
    because they are no more

Isn't it wonderful that God tells us well in advance what things will happen in the future gives us great confidence that God is in charge  and everything will work out according to his word and his will.

Love and Peace
Dave

Hi
Another wonderful prophecy

A voice cries:  ?In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord ;  make straight in the desert a highway for our God.   Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.   And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together,  for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.?
Isaiah 40:3-‬5 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/isa.40.3-5.ESV

Again we have conformation in the new Testament the voice crying in the wilderness is John the Baptist

And he went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet,  ?The voice of one crying in the wilderness:  ?Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.   Every valley shall be filled,  and every mountain and hill shall be made low,  and the crooked shall become straight, and the rough places shall become level ways,   and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.??
Luke 3:3-‬6 ESV

Hi
Moving on prophecies from the OT

I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother?s sons.  For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.
Psalm 69:8-‬9 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.69.8-9.ESV

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isaiah 53:3 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/isa.53.3.ESV

Its hard to believe that these things were written about the son of God that he would be despised and rejected by his own people and eventually they would kill him.
And all this was forecast hundreds of years in advance only God could know these things and he tells us these things so that we can have great confidence that he exists and everything he has planned will come to pass and to make sure he gives us eye witness accounts of the occurrences.

He came to his own, and his own people  did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
John 1:11-‬12 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.1.11-12.ESV

For not even his brothers believed in him.
John 7:5 ESV

Hi
Moving on

?The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers?it is to him you shall listen?
Deuteronomy 18:15 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/deu.18.15.ESV

These words were spoken by Moses over a thousand years before the coming of our Lord and our Lord would be greater than Moses the greatest man that ever lived.
The above text is confirmed in the NT

that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Moses said, ?The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.
Acts 3:20-‬22 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/act.3.20-22.ESV

How thankful we should be to our God that he confirms all the prophecies he made in the Old Testement how can there be any doubt that Jesus is the Christ the son of God.

Love and peace

Hi
Moving on

?Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.?
Malachi 4:5-‬6 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/mal.4.5-6.ESV

Thats whats so wonderful about our God he always gives us ample warning of what he is going to do and the consequences if we do not do as he asks.
John the Baptist ( Elijah) came to prepare the way for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ through baptism which is dieing to our old self and being reborn into Christ.
Unfortunately Israel as a nation rejected Christ and as a result suffered the consequences Israel was destroyed in 70 AD by the Romans.

We have conformation in the NT that John the Baptist was the Elijah who was to come.

For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John,  and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.  He who has ears to hear,  let him hear.
Matthew 11:13-‬15 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.11.13-15.ESV

So things like this can give us great confidence in knowing that everything God has planed and prophesied will come to pass.

Love and peace

Hi
 moving on

I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, ?You are my Son; today I have begotten you.  Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.  You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter?s vessel.?
Psalm 2:7-‬9 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.2.7-9.ESV

Here we have the Father confirming that our Lord is his beloved son and he would give him the ends of the earth for a possession and in the NT we are given conformation of this.

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, ?This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.?
Matthew 3:16-‬17 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.3.16-17.ESV

Here we have absolute conformation that Jesus of Nazareth  is the Son of God and we who believe are his body how wonderful  is that.

Love and Peace
Dave
