'So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created He him;
male and female created He them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:
and have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air,
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed,
which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,
in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air,
and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life,
I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.'
(Gen 1:27-31)

David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet | Netflix Official Site

Hello there,

I have just watched the above programme, concerning the environment, based on the life experience of David Attenborough. It was not a programme that I would have chosen to watch, but my grandson recommended it, and we watched it as a family. I was deeply affected by watching it, and hope that you will take the opportunity to watch it too.

'For the earnest expectation of the creature
waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
For the creature was made subject to vanity,
not willingly, but by reason of Him Who hath subjected the same in hope,'
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption
into the glorious liberty of the children of God.'
(Romans 8:19-21)

and the time of the dead, that they should be judged,
and that Thou shouldest give reward unto Thy servants the prophets,
and to the saints, and them that fear Thy Name, small and great;
and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. '
(Rev 11:18)

Thank you

Yeah , dominion may not mean domination over...

The same as when I marry someone - I do not  have control over them as I do not own anyone..

The same as God does not make us puppets for His own enjoyment.

It's the old argument of "husbands love your wifes and wives submit to your husbands"

To take dominion over what God created is to love it and take care of it.. [not destroy it]

I don't think for a minute, that people knew all the plastics were destroying life..

Most were innocent and Naive in recylcling believing they were just following [like sheep do] Christian or not.

We are all involved in this - when we buy products from social platforms [ where people are st

I hate what is going on with the Amazon rain forest ...

As you say ..

Hi
I will let the words of our Lord say it all

     And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.   For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.   And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.   For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.   All these are the beginning of sorrows.   Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.   And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.   And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.   And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.   But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.   And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.   When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)   Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:   Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:   Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.   And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!   But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:   For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.   And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.   Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.   For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.   Behold, I have told you before.   Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.   For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.   For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.   Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:   And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.   And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.   Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:   So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.   Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.   Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.   But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.   But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.   For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,   And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.   Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.   Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.   Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.   But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.   Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.   Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?   Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing.   Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.   But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming;   And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;   The Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,   And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 24:4-‬51 KJV

When we read the above then look at the world around us there can be no doubt  that we are in the end times.

'Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses,
the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life;
that he may please Him Who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

(2 Timothy 2:1-4)

Thank you @TJ and @davetaff,

The production that I referred to in the OP, was the witness testimony of David Attenborough, who has been involved in the natural world in one way or another for the whole of his life. He felt the need to record the changes in the environment that he has witnessed throughout the period of his life, showing visually, through filming, the changes that a lifetime of man's influence has had upon the planet, it's wildlife and diversity.  In doing so, he also predicted what the future would look like if we continued on the path being taken, in which man dominates and takes for himself all of natures resources, denying the existence of so many other species of life.

I don't believe David has a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and does not attribute creation to a Divine hand, but that does not make his witness any the less important, or worthy of note.  His witness left me in tears.

Praise God for His mercy, His grace, and His longsuffering!

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

'But the heavens and the earth, which are now,
by the same word are kept in store,
reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,
that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,
the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved,
what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,
wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to His promise,
look for new heavens and a new earth,
wherein dwelleth righteousness.'

Hello again,

One thing which is made abundantly clear from God's word, is that God's earthly kingdom cannot be established by human efforts. It awaits the time when the Lord Himself will write its laws in the hearts of its citizens through the new covenant made with Israel and Judah (Jeremiah 31:33), and when its ruler will be none other than the Messiah King (Christ Himself), perfect in character, wisdom and power. This will mean that God will once again interfere in human affairs, just as He did at the exodus of Israel from Egypt and mount Sinai when the kingdom commenced. If this is not true, then there is absolutely no hope for this world.

The Lord Jesus fore-told a time of unparalleled trouble world-wide, such had never been experienced before, and would never again be repeated, declaring that unless God intervened, there would 'no flesh be saved' (Matthew 24:15-22). In other words, man would annihilate himself, and we know only too well that he now has the ability to do just this.

However He assures the disciples there will be Divine intervention, and that is nothing less than His return to the earth, 'with power and great glory' (Matthew 24:30). At long last the One Who is 'King of kings and Lord of lords' will bring the nightmare of man's sinful dominion to an end and for the first time since the fall of Adam mankind will know what perfect rule and justice is, for 'He will reign in righteousness' the world over.'

Praise God!

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Hi
Yes it's only the comming of our Lord that can put a stop to the destruction of our world and this fulfills the words in Genesis which say man would be created to look after the world that God has created.
So we have a great deal of good work to look forward to but don't let us get complacent let us start now to do what we can for the environment do our recycling don't take the car when we can walk and anything else we can do to reduce our carbon footprint in so doing we can show our love for Gods glorious creation.

Love and Peace
Dave
