Thank you for the mention Cariad.

I do come into read but not having time to write much, recently.

Satan will be locked up during the millennium and so it will be easier and also the gospel will be preached. With Jesus ruling the world.

Yet at the end of the millennium Satan will be released and knows he has little time left. Then after a time of rebellion again, Satan will be totally destroyed.
Death the last enemy to be defeated will be destroyed and swallowed up in victory.
I'm not saying anything different. :azn:

Hello @Christianna,

You may not be saying anything different, but at least you are there.  Thank you for taking the time to respond like this.  I hope all is well with you and yours.

I hope to use this thread to look at what Scripture has to tell us on this subject as time allows.  So if you have any other thoughts to express, or anything applicable that you find during your own Bible reading, please add it to the mix.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Hi
The question remains why was satan  allowed free reign all the way through creation was it part of Gods creation plan if so what was his purpose.
I believe God allowed him to tempt us so that we could choose the good over evil the good being Love God is Love.
Now we come to the next big question.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;   That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.   For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?   And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?   Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:44-‬48 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.5.44-48.KJV

The question being of course dose God love satan after all he is Gods son is Christs sacrifice  enough for him to forgive him should we love him he is our enemy as well I am not saying to love what he dose but who he is behind the evil as we should love those who are our enemies.
And as God loved us.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 KJV

Love and Peace

Hi @davetaff,

I don't think we can answer such questions until we have looked at all that the Bible has to tell us about Satan and his activity: and even when that has been done, if the answers are not given within Scripture, it is not for us to conjecture.  Job's friends and God's assessment of them should be sufficient to prevent us from doing that.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus

'He that committeth sin is of the devil;
for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil.'

(1 John 3:8 )

Hello @davetaff,

We are living through evil days I believe, and studying what the Scriptures have to say about Satan is not something that I really want to do.  I would far prefer to keep my mind stayed upon Christ, and on the surety of God's promises made in and through Him.

* I sat down to looked at Ezekiel 28, at what is said there concerning him as the anointed cherub, but everything within me is reluctant to do so. The sin and judgement of the Prince of Tyre (1-10) being the type; and the sin and judgement of the King of Tyre the antitype (vv. 11-19).  I read that the prince of Tyre was 'Ithobalus 11', which in Hebrew becomes 'Ethbaal'. ' Ethbaal' means 'Baal's Man'!  The name of this prince gives us an understanding of his character.  An earlier Ethbaal was the father of 'Jezebel' (1 Kings 16:31).

* In Vine's Bible Dictionary, I am told that Baal may denote any deity other than the God of Israel.  'Baal'  was a common name given to the god of fertility in Canaan. The Old Testament records Baal as 'the god' of the Canaanites.  The Israelites worshipped Baal during the time of the Judges (Judges 6:25-32) and of King Ahab the husband of Jezebel.

* The one thing that we know of Satan is that he desires to be 'worshipped'.  Remember what he said to the Lord when tempting Him in the wilderness:-

'And the devil, taking Him up into an high mountain,
shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
And the devil said unto Him,
.. "All this power will I give thee,
.... and the glory of them:
...... for that is delivered unto me;
........ and to whomsoever I will I give it.
.......... If thou therefore wilt worship me,
............ all shall be thine."

And Jesus answered and said unto Him,
.. "Get thee behind Me, Satan: for it is written,
.... Thou shalt worship the Lord Thy God,
...... and Him only shalt thou serve."'

(Luke 4:5)

Praise God!

* Satan will be worshipped through the person of 'the man of sin' for a while at the end of the age, but his end is in view.

In Christ Jesus
Chris

Hi Chris
Thank you for your reply I know my above post is a little controversial but we are trying to understand why satan has been allowed to continue  my above post was meant to help to give a reason.
Of course the overriding reason is Love he exists  so that we can choose to love God and our fellow  man is this the reason God created him did God know in advance what he would do was he meant to do what he did.
If satan had not turned Israel away from Christ they would not have crucified our Lord and we would not have forgiveness of our sins.

Love and Peace
Dave

Hi @davetaff,

With respect this is your own understanding of these things, it is not what is written, so has no validity.

Hi Chris
Thank you for your post  I thought the quote from Luke was very informative

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.  If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Luke 4:5-‬8 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.4.5-8.KJV

Interesting  that the whole creation was given to satan then we are told Christ is the first of all creation.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Colossians 1:15-‬17 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/col.1.15-17.KJV

So at what point did satan receive the creation.

Love and Peace
