Hi @davetaff,

With respect this is your own understanding of these things, it is not what is written, so has no validity.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Hi Chris
Thank you  for your post yes you are right it is my understanding and it has the same validity as anyone else's opinion.

you said
Quote
We are living through evil days I believe, and studying what the Scriptures have to say about Satan is not something that I really want to do.  I would far prefer to keep my mind stayed upon Christ, and on the surety of God's promises made in and through Him.

before this you said

Thank you for creating a thread for the purpose of considering the subject of Satan,

Which is it to be.

Love and Peace

Hello there,

I miss @Christianna, for she would have responded.  Why do so few take part in the threads? For members names appear as having visited the site regularly, yet I find no record of them taking part.

Chris

Often times people visit the site and like to  read through the threads.
Sometimes things discussed may be what others are unsure of.
Sometimes people are not comfortable in trying to discuss.
Especially at the moment many are busy dealing with the Covid19 drama and do not have the free time to respond but enjoy following threads.
Really there can be many a reason why people are visiting and not joining in, but that is ok...all are welcome  :D

Hi Chris
Thank you for your reply I know my above post is a little controversial but we are trying to understand why satan has been allowed to continue  my above post was meant to help to give a reason.
Of course the overriding reason is Love he exists  so that we can choose to love God and our fellow  man is this the reason God created him did God know in advance what he would do was he meant to do what he did.
If satan had not turned Israel away from Christ they would not have crucified our Lord and we would not have forgiveness of our sins.

Love and Peace
Dave

As controversial as it may seem to some it is a fair comment and you did put in Scripture references from Matthew 5 and Romans 5.

Really without satan, would free will choices even be available as all things available would be God sourced.  If we have choice between good and evil and we are to choose good and God then there is little choice but satan to be in the mix for that to even happen.

Without satan showing temptation and tempting then all would be well and we would all be existing in Eden loving life.  None of the Bible or events within and subsequent debates would even exist.

We are told in Scripture to love pur enemies, which satan is the ultimate of.  We are also told that love covers all and always wins.

Hi serenity
Thank you for your post and support I do think as grownups  we should be able to discuss  these things without taking it personally

Yeah without knowui g it - you are simply echoeing the services @my Church..

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.  If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Yeah - that wqas the exact message last week @ Church @ Home.

you see / satan knows scripture better than we do and he knows how to move in and out of - our previous lives.

[as he also lives outside of time]
