Hello there,

I have been sat in the garden, my mind going over the things of God's word that are precious to me, and my thoughts went to my grandson, in his early twenties and living in a flat in Cardiff.  A one bedroom, ground floor flat, very small, but which he has been tending, doing DIY and cleaning it, dealing with an ant problem and getting rid of the weeds among the paving of the garden beneath his bedroom window.  So young, with life before him, and I have prayed that he would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as His Saviour: and  I so want to tell him to read John's gospel; that wonderful book, containing as it does a series of witness statements as to the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ: written with one purpose in mind, as we are told by John in John 20:30-31:-

'And many other signs truly did Jesus
.. in the presence of His disciples,
.... which are not written in this book:
But these are written,
.. that ye might believe
.... that Jesus is the Christ,
......the Son of God;
........ and that believing
.......... ye might have life
............ through His name.
'

What a blessed purpose, isn't it?  Fulfilled so very wonderfully throughout the years: for this Gospel more that any other part of Scripture has been used to the saving of many a soul.

I have more than one grandchild, and all of them are in my prayers, but today it is my eldest grandson that occupies my mind, and for whom I pray. When he was a baby I would sit in the garden with him in my arms singing, 'Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so' and 'Jesus wants me for a sunbeam to shine for Him each day', and my heart would yearn that this child would grow up to know the Saviour.

In these days of uncertainty and the danger of contagion from the pandemic still present in the world around us, with a future which is fraught with difficulties, how wonderful it is to know that God is never changing and His certainties remain sure in Christ Jesus our risen Saviour, Lord and Head.

Thank you for listening.
In Christ Jesus
Chris
