God can work through therapists to do his amazing things and completing promises.  People shouldn't box in God or limit him in how he will do things, or bring them to fruition and completion.

Hi Earthman
I was sorry to here of your hard times in early life and understand how it can affect your whole life I have been thinking all day what I could say to help but there are no easy answers.
Best I can do is look to the Lord look forward not back if it's possible for you forgive those who have wronged you and put it all behind you and move forward with the Lord.
I will pray for you that the Lord will help and strengthen you.

Love and peace
Dave

GBU @davetaff

It's okay I know how to defeit this...

I was angry that it happened a second time and that God allowed it ..I now have to sort out how I provide for my wife and another child - that I never intended to provide for..

As a self employed person - - I have to keep working / does,nt matter how many hours per week and if my legs fall off - I have to carry on. if I dont work I don't get payed.. hence I cannot even think about hospitals or doctors suregey's [I can clen them but I cannot send time in them] the more I do - the less wage I earn [ I'm already working 7 days a week] that means less time with my grandson..

The topic is about resisting temptation

Sorry for diverting the topic ..

Hey @davetaff

Temptaton can come up against you - whatever  age you are.

You may  not even know yourself and you can be struck with tempation..

I t may be natural desires or spiritual interference/ mostly it wil be natural impulses..

Going back to the orinal post -

hey @Derek1955

Quote
Temptation takes many forms and often rears its head when we are at our weakest and this is revealed clearly in Jesus' time in the wilderness when He was desperately hungry. He well knew His Divinity could make His earthly life one of power, wealth, adulation, ease and physical comfort but resisted the temptation, not by dialoguing with Satan but by using the strength to resist He gained from His desire to carry out His Father's command to Him.  Let us look at how He accomplished this, as described in Matthew 4: 1-11 (KJV).

?Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterwards an hungered.  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."

I find it interesting the God the Father led God the Son into the wlldeness by God the Holy Spirit..

Quote
As the creator of the quantum aspect of His creation jesus knew full well that the atomic structure of stones could easily be turned into that of bread by Him but because He would do only that which He saw His Father do He would not take that easy path and so remained hungry.
Jesus' scripture reference - (Deuteronomy 8: 3. KJV) ?And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knew not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live?

Yeah it moves me to "be content with what you have - eg: Hebrews 13:5 ? ?Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have

I lived by this for years and "everything you do - do it for the Lord as unto"

I worked unto the Lord and made me able ..

Yes all the testings -

Quote
As Christ revealed in Gethsemane it is by will alone that someone is good or bad and never ever forget that at the end of each human life either God or Satan will say 'Mine' of each soul on offer

Umm noo ...  okay .. I,ll let that pass  :D

Whatever my will that I was given at birth - I don't have a can never decide on my birthright - except Jesus took my place..

That's the best argument I can present you  [although it may be wrong]

They have have no idea of gender or race ..

They have no idea where they are born or into what family..

It's a bit like a lottery ..

Hi
So why does temptation or if you like evil we see it everywhere we look and it's tempting us to be part of it so why does God allow it to exist.
My answer is love God wants us to love to love him to love each other to love our enemies the only way to overcome evil is with love the law does not work.
We have more laws than we know what to do with God's laws and man made laws but evil is still rampant you cannot force people to comply with the law in the same way you cannot force people to love love has to be a freewill gift from the heart no strings attached when everyone loves everybody else we won't need any laws and this is the world we are looking forward to.

Come Lord Jesus come

Love and peace
Dave
