"Quote "a good man going to sinners to change them isn't that what Christ did." post 294."

Your words David, and again we see in scripture that Jesus going to people did not change them.

but his intention was to change them   to man in Gods image

What we see is the effect of his teaching together with what they know of him changing some people.

Your use of language is sloopy.

sorry about that John but I have never said I was an academic in fact the exact opposite

Does baptism change us. well it might make us cleaner, but that is all it does. People are baptised on their profession of faith.
That is they are already christian.

What does change us is becoming a Christian, the acknowledgement that we are sinners, the acceptance of Jesus as Saviour and Lord and our desire to be like him.

I was not referring to water baptism but

I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.?
Mark 1:8 ESV

This is the true baptism but to recieve this we must be washed with the water of the word of God

And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace. So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.
Genesis 19:27-‬29 ESV

Here we see Abraham looking down on Sodom and Gomorrah and everything had been destroyed only Lot and his daughters had been saved his wife had been turned to a pillar of salt not sure what that may mean.
It seams Lot may have been saved because of his relationship to Abraham.
Is this vision of Sodom and Gomorrah an indication of what God will do to an evil world and save all the righteous through Jesus Christ.

Hi

Now Lot went up out of Zoar and lived in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid to live in Zoar. So he lived in a cave with his two daughters. And the firstborn said to the younger, ?Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth. Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.? So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. He did not know when she lay down or when she arose. The next day, the firstborn said to the younger, ?Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine tonight also. Then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.? So they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. Thus both the daughters of Lot became pregnant by their father. The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day. The younger also bore a son and called his name Ben-ammi. He is the father of the Ammonites to this day.
Genesis 19:30-‬38 ESV

This is a very strange story hard to understand for what reason has God for telling us this of course the Moabites and Ammonites were to play a part in the history of Israel interesting that these nations came into being through Abraham.
Is the birth of Moab and Ben-ammi a mirror image of Isaac and Jakob and if so why do we need to know ?

Hi
If I may go back to Lots wife who was turned into a pillar of salt I was reading in the NT what our Lord said to his decipels.

?You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people?s feet. ?You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-‬16 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/mat.5.13-16.ESV

Salt is a preservative and the words the apostles would preach would preserve us to eternal life so is Lots wife being turned into a pillar of salt prefigering what the Church of Christ would do go back to an evil world to preserve it for eternal life

From there Abraham journeyed toward the territory of the Negeb and lived between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar. And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, ?She is my sister.? And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
Genesis 20:1-‬2 ESV

This is a strange story did Abraham say Sarah was his sister just to save his life did he not believe all the promises of God.
Or is this a mirror image of things to come in Israel God created the priesthood Aaron the head the man the thr tribe of Levi his helper the woman both created by the Father so both have the same Father so are brother and sister.
And we see the same thing in Christ and his church Christ the man and his body the church were created by God the Farther so are brother and sister they both have the same Father.

Hi
Next

But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, ?Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man?s wife.? Now Abimelech had not approached her. So he said, ?Lord, will you kill an innocent people? Did he not himself say to me, ?She is my sister?? And she herself said, ?He is my brother.? In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.? Then God said to him in the dream, ?Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her. Now then, return the man?s wife, for he is a prophet, so that he will pray for you, and you shall live. But if you do not return her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.?
Genesis 20:3-‬7 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.20.3-7.ESV

Here we see that God always helps and looks after those he has chosen that they can always be sure that God is there for them.
But Abraham and Sarah had not bean totally honest with Abimelech but God had stepped in and saved the day.
It was not only Abimelech that would die but all those who were his how many we are not told but it would be the prayers of Abraham that would save them.

Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much

Hi

So Abimelech rose early in the morning and called all his servants and told them all these things. And the men were very much afraid. Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, ?What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.? And Abimelech said to Abraham, ?What did you see, that you did this thing?? Abraham said, ?I did it because I thought, ?There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.? Besides, she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father though not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife. And when God caused me to wander from my father?s house, I said to her, ?This is the kindness you must do me: at every place to which we come, say of me, ?He is my brother.??? Then Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and male servants and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and returned Sarah his wife to him. And Abimelech said, ?Behold, my land is before you; dwell where it pleases you.? To Sarah he said, ?Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. It is a sign of your innocence in the eyes of all who are with you, and before everyone you are vindicated.? Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and also healed his wife and female slaves so that they bore children.

A rather large section more or less self explanatory the main point is that God will always make things right for his chosen and to those who have been wrongly used.
The righteous judge will always do whats right and answer the prayers of a righteous man.

"  God will always make things right for his chosen  " quote post 310.

If you mean Romans 8:28 All things work together for the good of those who are called.  Then yes in heaven, but not neccessarily here in this life.
