Now Sarai, Abram?s wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said to Abram, ?Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.? And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
Genesis 16:1-‬2 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.16.1-2.ESV

This reminds of the story of Adam and Eve where Eve temps Adam here Sarai tempted Abram with her servant and Abram succumbed although God had told Abram his descendant's would inherit the Land he should have waited for God.
So is what happens with Abram and Sarai a repetition of what happend in Eden

Hi
Next

So, after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram?s wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her servant, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife. And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, she looked with contempt on her mistress. And Sarai said to Abram, ?May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my servant to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the Lord judge between you and me!? But Abram said to Sarai, ?Behold, your servant is in your power; do to her as you please.? Then Sarai dealt harshly with her, and she fled from her.
Genesis 16:3-‬6 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.16.3-6.ESV

So Sarai gives Hagar to Abram for a wife and she becomes pregnant not what God had planned plus our Lord explains that from the beginning it was one man and one wife having more than one wife will always lead to strife.
We can see this in the church which is the bride of Christ how it has been divided into many denominations this is not good there can only be one bride which is the body of Christ one man and one wife.

Hi

The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur. And he said, ?Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?? She said, ?I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai.? The angel of the Lord said to her, ?Return to your mistress and submit to her.? The angel of the Lord also said to her, ?I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude.?
Genesis 16:7-‬10 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.16.7-10.ESV

So the angel of the Lord finds Hagar by the well and advises her to go back to her mistress and God would make sure that all would go well for her and the son she would bare.
God had promised Abram that he would look after  his offspring and they would be a multitude Hagars son was not the child of the promise never the less God would honour his promise to bless Abram?s off spring.
That Abram had two sons and the younger would be chosen we see played out in later history Jakob over Esau David over Saul and Jesus over Israel again we see the expanding story of Gods plan of salvation.

And the angel of the Lord said to her, ?Behold, you are pregnant and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has listened to your affliction. He shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand against everyone and everyone?s hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen.?
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.16.11-12.ESV

God tells Hagar she will have a son a wild donkey of a man not very flattering just wondering if this might be related to the two sons the younger always being chosen if we lift this up to the gig picture of Christ and Israel then Ishmael would represent Israel and the description given above would suite Israel to a tee.

Hi

So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, ?You are a God of seeing,? for she said, ?Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.? Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered. And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.
Genesis 16:13-‬16 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.16.13-16.ESV

So Hagar called God the God of seeing which is very true God sees everything and Knows everything he knows the end from the beginning.
So Hagar returned to her mistress because she had faith that God would keep all his promises he had made to her and she bore a son to Abram and called him Ishmael his name means God hears and this is very true when we believe and have faith then God hears our prayers.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ?I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.? Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him, ?Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations.
Genesis 17:1-‬4 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.17.1-4.ESV

Here God appears to Abram and commands him to be blameless and he will make him the Father of a multitude of nations.
What dose this mean the word multitude can not mean just those few nations in and around Israel it has to mean all the Christian nations around the world this makes far more sense.
And we can see in this day and age that this has come to pass its wonderful how Gods word always works out exactly has he says
Reminds us of.

declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ?My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,?

Hi
Moving on

No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.?
Genesis 17:5-‬8 ESV

https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.17.5-8.ESV

Here God changes his name Abraham which means Father of a multitude and how very true this is through Abraham and Israel  and Christianity Gods word has spread around the world to nearly every nation and it all began with Abraham.
And God made a covenant with Abraham and with all his descendants after him and God has kept his side of the covenant even when man has gone astray he even sent his only begotten son into the world to die for the sins of the world so that we can be with him in the new heaven and earth which he will create.
So Gods creation program is ongoing and will come to its climax with the creation of the new heaven and earth.

Love and Peace

And God said to Abraham, ?As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised. Every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house or bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring, both he who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money, shall surely be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant. Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.?
Genesis 17:9-‬14 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.17.9-14.ESV

Here we have the covenant of circumcision I think this represents something else the removal of the flesh we know that flesh and blood cannot enter the presence of God we must be translated into spiritual beings this will happen when we enter the body of Christ.
The strange thing is there is no mention of females is this because in Christ there is no difference as Paul says.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus

So when we enter the body of Christ we put of the flesh of our bodies we are circumcised and can enter the presence of God.
