And God said, ?Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.? And it was so. And God made the two great lights?the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night?and the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
Genesis 1:14-‬19 ESV

Moving on to day four always been a bone of contention how could God wait so long to create the sun which all life is dependent on the only logical answer is that the sun moon and stars mean something else.
The sun of course is the light of the world and sustains all life os obviously represents Christ who is the light of the world.
The moon is the reflected light of the sun and gives light to the dark part of the world this is the church the bride of Christ.
Then we have the stars these are all the children of Christ and his bride all those who have taken Christ as their Saviour and are shining lights to those living in darkness.
All these give light to the world and God said this was good.

Hi
Moving on

And God said, ?Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.? So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, ?Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.? And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
Genesis 1:20-‬23 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.1.20-23.ESV

This the fifth day of creation the day after Christ came into the world as a man and had ascended into heaven he gave his instructions to his apostles and through their preaching all the above were created.
The waters mentioned here is the sea of humanity from which the man in Gods image Jesus Christ would be created and God saw that it was good.
And there was evening and morning which represents light and darkness good and evil interesting to note at the end of the fifth day God dose not say it was good was it because there was still good and evil in the world.

Hi

And God said, ?Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds?livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.? And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:24-‬25 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.1.24-25.ESV

Here we move into the sixth day the last day of the creation process here we see God creating everything that creeps along the ground I believe this included mankind other wise God could not say everything if mankind was missing so everything mentioned here is mankind but there is no man in the image of his creation was to come in the next section of day six.
But everything up to this point was going according to plan and God pronounced it to be good.

Hi

Then God said, ?Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.?
Genesis 1:26 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.1.26.ESV

Now we come to the creation of man in the image of God the curious thing is that God uses term's that indicate that man in his image is more than one single human being he says in our image and let them so it would seam to me that man in the image of God is more than one should we consider man as mankind as a whole.
Makes more sense to think of mankind having dominion over everything that that one man and one woman would have dominion over everything.
But what would make sense is if that one man is Jesus Christ and the woman is his church all those who are his body they certainly could have dominion over the earth and everything in it.

Hi
Next

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.1.27.ESV

So man in Gods image is man and woman how should we view this we have two good examples in scripture first we have Israel which God created and he called his son

When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.
Hosea 11:1 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/hos.11.1.ESV

So Israel is Gods son so how is Israel a man and a woman the man who is the head of Israel is Moses the woman his helper is the priesthood.
This mirrors Christ and his bride the church he also came out of Egypt we also have this confirmation

Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high

So here we have absolute proof that Christ is the image of God and as Israel is Gods son they must be created in the same way.
The other interesting thing is that Christ  and Israel can be seen as brothers which gives the story of Cain and Able a new twist the older brother kills the younger brother.
So should we view Genesis from a new perspective.

Hi
So Jesus Christ is the end of creation or will be at his second comming when he and his bride become one.
So the creation account in Genesis should be seen as covering the time from the beginning to Christs second advent.
In the previous posts I have said that trees and vegetation can be likened to people this may sound a little strange but think of the teachings and parables of our Lord he uses trees and plants to make his point then we have

Mar 8:24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking

Did our Lord make a mistake when he healed the blind man of course not but this was our Lord healing his spiritual blindness as well as his physical

On day 4 I have said we should see the sun moon and stars as Christ his church and all the children they would produce.

I came across this verse this morning.

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall

Why was the word sun used instead of son we know Christ is the light of the world and to liken him to the sun makes perfect sense.

Love and Peace

Hi
Thought it mite be instructive to look at how God created man in his image we know that God created Adam before the flood and this man was defiled by the Angels so God destroyed this creation.
God had compassion on Noah and his family and all the animals that entered the ark.
So everything was destroyed except what was on the ark the onlything missing was man in Gods image Adam he died in the flood so all we have is the eight people on the ark and the only one said to be righteous is Noah but was Noah in the image of God I don't  think so the only one in scripture who is said to be the image of God is Jesus Christ and I don't think Noah and Christ have anything in common.
So God needed to create man in his image.

Hi
So the only thing missing after the flood was man in the image of God everything else was on the Ark the first command God gave to Noah and his family was replenish the earth which Noah and his family did.
Then God chose a man Abram from this one man God would create Israel it would be a long presses what we learn from Abram is the great value of obedience he obeyed God he left everything behind him and went out to a place he did not know.

Love and Peace
Dave
