Genesis 3:6,7

Satan could not force the man and woman to sin, only tempt them. They had a free choice, either to believe him or to trust God. They were tempted both on a physical level (by the taste and texture of the fruit) and on an intellectual level (by the desire to be self-sufficient, and independent from God). Could such 'good' things really be so terrible? Would the fabric of the world really be unravelled by so trivial a thing as a piece of fruit? But it was so.

Adam, who should have overruled or rebuked his wife (indeed, it was his responsibility to do so - why didn?t he stop her?), or at least distanced himself from her, followed her lead and shared in her sin. His was the last and decisive act of disobedience: they did not fall until he also had eaten the fruit. Then their eyes were indeed opened, but not in the way that they had been led to expect. Too late they discovered that wisdom can only be gained through the fear of Yahweh!

They became exquisitely aware of their weakness and vulnerability. They could not cope with their new 'knowledge', and could no longer feel at ease even with each other; the instinct to cover up was immediate. Their perfection and innocence were lost for ever.
"Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,
but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble." (Proverbs 28:14)

Hi Deborah
Thank you for your posts some very good points made and many will benefit shallI I slow down.

He said, ?Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?? The man said, ?The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.? Then the Lord God said to the woman, ?What is this that you have done?? The woman said, ?The serpent deceived me, and I ate.?
Genesis 3:11-‬13 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.3.11-13.ESV

Here our Lord confronts Adam he had eaten from the tree of knowledge what is this tree like came across this and it made me think.

?For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace;  the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Isaiah 55:12 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/isa.55.12.ESV

How can trees clap their hands they don't have any I think the tree of knowledge is a reference to the nations around Israel.
Israel was commanded to keep them selves completely separate from the other nations which they failed to do and eat of their fruit which was idolatry.
God created Israel the first Adam of this creation perfect but they failed  to keep themselves separate and perfect as God had created them.
This is why the last Adam Christ has been taken into heaven so that the woman the Church cannot contaminate him.

Love and Peace
Dave

What always amazes me is how gently God deals with Adam.
He knows the moment Adam are the fruit, yet he arrives in the garden and as Adam is not there to meet him, calls for him.
God knows where Adam is and what he has done.
Like a mother arriving in the front room after a loud crash and can see the broken vase, see where the children are trying to hide.
An opportunity to own up is given.

Adam, just like everyone, does not own up,but passes the blame, first to God, then to Eve.
God works through the chain. Except Satan is not given the chance to repent.

Finally God both judges, punished and provided for Adam and Eve.
The curse is pronounced, they are banished from Eden but an atoining cover of skin clothing is provided.
( An animal had to die, blood was shed so a covering could be made, )

Hi John
Thank you for you input interesting point of view moving on

Gen 3:14  The LORD God said to the serpent, ?Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.

Of course the serpent here is satan the deceiver of the whole human race he began as an angle of light and ended up crawling on his belly in the dust of the earth of course the dust here could be a reference to the human race

Gen 13:15  for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever.
Gen 13:16  I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted.

Here God is speaking to Abraham this dust is those who belong to God and satan will be snapping at their heals and continues to do so and won't be stopped until the millennium  and we know he has bean deceiving the whole human race from the beginning.

Hi
The next section is a bit tricky so will take a bit at a time.

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Genesis 3:15 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.3.15.KJV

The woman here is eve the wife of  the first Adam dose the above also apply to the last Adam Christ.
The seed of the woman is Christ who will bruise the head of the serpent satan he will destroy satan.
But satan has been snapping at the heels of the woman from the beginning until now and will continue to do so until he is taken away.
Not sure who the seed of satan is.
Silly man that I am all seeds grow and I belisve the seeds spoken of above are the seeds to the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil so Christ is the seed to the tree of life direct access to wich was removed when Christ was taken up after the crucifixion.
The tree of knowledge remains which is satan and he will not be removed until the beginning of the millennium but he will be released at the end of the millenium.

Think I'm  getting cross threaded

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Genesis 3:16 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.3.16.KJV

Of course this was said of the first Eve but I believe it is also applicable  the the last Eve the church we know from history that many of the preachers of the gosple have been put to death or imprisoned  or have had very hard lives giving birth to the children of God.
But our Lord Jesus Christ has been there every step of the way strengthening  them with the holy Spirit every step of the way he is the Head of the body the church.

Hi
Moving on

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;  Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;  In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Genesis 3:17-‬19 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.3.17-19.KJV

The Adam mentioned here is Israel God gave them a land flowing which milk and honey a paradise the would want for nothing God would provide for all their needs on condition they obeyed  the laws given to them by moses.
So it seams it was the woman Eve who did not comply with the law and in so doing contaminated  the whole nation including their head Joshua not forgetting the man and the woman became one so if one sinned they both sinned.

This is the reason Christ our Joshua  was taken up separated from the woman the church so she could not contaminate him but he will return as the good shepherd  to gather together all those who are his.
Come Lord Jesus Come.

Love and peace
Dave

Hi
Moving on

And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Genesis 3:20 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.3.20.KJV

I can see this being said by the last Adam Christ about his bride the church she would be the mother of all those who would inherent  eternal life that is life.
Not forgetting Israel because all israel will be saved they will also be saved as a result of Christ and his church.
I think a mistake we make and I have made is when God says things in scripture we tend to think of them as happening straight  away but in fact they can happen thousands  of years later some thing he has said may not have happened  yet.

Love and Peace
Dave
