Yes Jesus replaced the old  covenant  with the new covenant, demonstrating God as our Creator and Father to all who respond to Him.

Jesus said:A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:33-35

This means that all the 10 commandments, are fulfilled by love. If we love God and love others we love by not giving false testimony of them, not stealing, not lying etc. Romans 8:8-10
And Love, the fruit of the Holy Spirit is more fulfilling than the 10 commandments.  Matthew 5:43-45 love your enemies
That Jesus demonstrated fully, by dying for us while we were His enemies. Romans 5:6-7
Showing complete love

Jesus also demonstrated that the law of Moses was not abolished but fulfilled. Matthew 5:17
By Jesus's Ministry and  demonstrated, He bridged the gap  between man and God. John 14:6 Romans 5:9 John 3:16

Giving us new wineskins, which is  a better way. The good parts of the law of Moses through the 10 commandments are retained, but the laws of Leviticus are shown to be irrelevant. Consequently, "hate your enemies" is removed. Matthew 5:43-45

There were people who were so hard to teach in the cultures of the past, being  so legalistic and overly harsh. Matthew 19:8

Moses had to do things according to their terms , in order to get the first covenant fully established , and it took someone revolutionary to change and take away what was bad about the old laws and keep and fulfil what was good.

That person was Jesus. Teaching  new wineskins
Ministered to us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:3

Now thinking in terms of new wineskins and how to answer those who attack Christianity, misrepresenting  Christianity with those barbaric laws of Leviticus, that were done away with, by the new covenant of grace and love. Mark 2:22

Oh everything matters davetaff.  Each action, word, place, person etc used by God matters and has significance of some level, shape and form.

Hi Serenity
Thank you for your reply of course all  of scriptures matter but who gave the tablets to Moses is not in the scriptures as such the word Lord is a translation of Jehovah if that helps which is the name for God for the Jews

The Father creates and also through Jesus all things are made.  Jesus was only made lower than the angels for His mission on this earth.

Agreed

Which spirit of God are you referring to speaking through the prophets etc...he has a few and each used at different times for different purposes.

Funny you said that I was reading rev A few days ago and was wondering about this.

Rev_4:5  And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

why seven spirits strange that the word seven is used over 50 times in Rev so I have been thinking has it to do with the 7 days of creation which would mean it was a different spirit speaking to the prophets over time but they were all the spirit of God

The Bible is the word of God but not an idol set apart from God or the entirity of God or his word, lest you limit a 'omni' God.

The bible is the word of God and everything that has been said or preached after the amen in Rev must be checked against it if it cannot be backed up by the bible it should be disregarded

FYI i dont limit myself to hearing God within the few books we have collated in what is known as the Bible.  As my signature strip states...i believe God can use anything, anywhere, anytime, anyone, anyhow for His good and purpose....because He can.  So i dont oblige to any form of subliminal conscious or unconscious warnings/restrictions of some odd religious rulings etc etc

I limit myself to the scriptures because I believe they are the word of God and they are true words and can always be relied on

Love and Peace

And this word of God...or the Bible which is a part of it, tells you that you to be spirit led and you hear your Father's voice.

How do you hear your Father's voice in its entirity by limiting its reception to your sight and mind?  It's like having all your senses but intentionally tying your hands so they don't touch or putting a peg on your nose so you don't smell or earmuffs on so you cannot hear etc

Hi serenity
Thank you for your reply yes of course God can use anyone or anything to further his  creation all I am saying is that everything that has been said after the amen in revelations needs to be checked against scripture we have been warned against false prophets how can we tell if a prophet is true of false only by comparing what they say against scripture.

Hi Serenity
Thank you for your question it comes from the following.
Act 17:11  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

so this seamed a good idea to me we need a yardstick by which we can check what people say and that yardstick is the bible from Genesis to Revelations.

That Scripture is not specifying that them receiving the word with readiness of mind is the same as searching the Scriptures daily.  Infact it suggests it's 2 different things...as is 'after the last Amen in the book of Revelations'.

Why is it limited to Genesis to Revelations?
And which version are you on about, different ones have different books in them even.  The ones that ascribe to your  approved denomination? Or by popular acceptance? Or some other human styled excuse/reasoning?

Hi serenity
Thank you for your reply the words after revelations are my words not the words of scriptures.
I use the KJV mostly mainly because I believe the God who created everything can create a book he wants us to have and the KJV is the first complete English translation so I feel God is behind it no I cannot prove it but it's what I belive.

Then we have.

.  2 Timothy 3:16 [Full Chapter]
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

So we can trust the scriptures they are the word of God so should we add anything to them I don't think we should.
Don't get me wrong there have been many Christian men and women who have said and wrote some wonderful things all I am saying is they must agree with the scripture as we have them.

Love and Peace
Dave
