Finding a good church (Leicester UK)
« on: October 22, 2019, 10:45:32 AM »
Hi guys

My wife and I had been into new age practices for over a decade and it all amounted to feeling lost, exhausted, depressed, anxious and pretty much angry at the entire "spiritual path" take on life.

In the past 6 months after stopping all our practices we both started having a pull towards Jesus and started looking into what this is all about. Since then we have started making changes to our lives and stop sinning and deeply wanting the Jesus and the holy spirit to guide us back to God.

We live in Leicester UK and are wanting to find a church with healing and deliverance etc which most people seem to not like and prefer to just listen to a sermon and go home.

We went a few weeks ago to see a pastor named Mark Hemans, he healed people in front of my eyes in Jesus name, an autistic boy spoke for the first time and a lady on crutches walked without them.

Please help us find the right church even if its a drive away.

Welcome to the forum.
As a Londoner I don't know the churches in leicester so can only suggest using google. I put in leicester penticostal churches and it found three plus mentioned the AOG and king churches.
or you could talk to the minister about other churches that are into healing etc.

Alternatives try the christianityexplored web asite or alpha web site, both will let you find churches associated with them in a set radius.

Hi Jay
Welcome to the site I believe there is only one church and that's the body of Christ it can be found in all denominations and this is the one we should strive to be a part of as for the churches in and around you try to pick one that teaches the scriptures and don't forget to check everything they say against the scriptures to make sure the are right.
And not forgetting to read your Bible every day and pray for the holy spirit to guide you.

Love and Peace
Dave

Thank you for your responses.

I looked and found a few Pentecostal churches nearby I will go to each and check them out.

I am new to this and will read my bible each day and ask the Holy Spirit to guide me :)

I left off going to Cof E churches for various reasons.  Then I found a Salvation Army group giving church services in our local scout hut. I was inspired to go because they believe in the Bible without interpretation. Wonderful. The services are inspiring, and people join in with discussions if they want to. There's a children's group and they discuss the Bible directly, without dogma. There is always something going on too, activities, a theatre group came in at Christmas. They're very informal: we drink coffee and have biscuits during parts of the service. There are things going on after the service. No one's anonymous. Give them a go.
