Hi
Next verse

.      24  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon

Here we have a serious warning let us not follow the ways of the world but follow in the footsteps of our Lord I think St Paul says it far better than I ever could.

. 1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows

Hi
Moving on

Mat 6:25  ?Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Mat 6:26  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Our heavenly Father has provided for the needs of all humanity so why do we see so much want in the world children with out food or clean water I believe it because of greed people hoard to them selves much more than they need not willing to share.
Then we have the problem of wasted resources we can put men on the moon but can't get a cup of clean water to a child dying of thirst surely our priorities are all wrong.
then there is the problem of all the money and resources wasted on armaments and wars and all the destruction they cause not to mention climate change the destruction of this wonderful planet God has provided with all its resources which would provide enough for everyone.
So it's not because God has not provided enough it's because mankind has completely mismanaged what God has provided mankind was created to look after and manage God Creation but we have done the exact opposite.

Love and Peace

Hi
The next section is rather long difficult to split up.

.       27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof

We see here we can change nothing by just thinking about it what's needed is action.
In this day and age of designer clothes and fashion do we spend to much time and effort on these things is it a waste of resource we buy something today tomorrow it's in the bin should we rely on faith in our heavenly Father he provides for all of nature surely he will provide for his children.
Here in verse 32 we understand that our Lord is speaking to Israel as a nation God's people of that time and God would provide for all there needs if they would return to him.
But Israel rejected God's offers so they were cut of and all the above is offered to the Gentiles if we seek his kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord he will care for his people and provide for all there needs.
So let's not worry about tomorrow for we believe that God is always there watching over his people for there good.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

.  1  Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again

Should we judge if we do judge we will be judged by the same measure.
The next question is should we judge our brothers and sisters in other denominations we have no way of knowing what's in their heart's so how can we judge them is it not better to accept them as fellow members of Christ's body and leave the judgement to the Lord the righteous judge.
Should we judge those out side the church after all have they not already been judged by the law of God do we also need to judge them after all Christ died for the sins of the world so the offer of forgiveness is still open to the unbeliever.
So let us avoid judging anyone but show them God's love instead.

Hi
The following words of our Lord are very good advice.

.
3  And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4  Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5  Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye

I believe this telling us to examine ourselves first before we start to judge others are we perfect of course not we have no right to criticise others we must leave that to the righteous judge.
There is nothing wrong in discussing God's word but let us do it in Love and respect for others point of view.
Should we question how God speaks to others.

Hi
moving on.

Mat 7:6  Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

I don't think this means literal dogs and swine but certain type's of people we must be careful who and how we approach others with Gods holy word and pearls of wisdom which we glean from Gods holy word.
let us put on the whole armar of God which can extinguish the fiery darts of satan and offer the gospel quietly and humbly to those out side the church if they refuse to listen shake the dust from your  feet and move on.

Love and Peace

Hi
The next section.

.      7  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened

Here we have the sure and certain promise of our heavenly Father but we must believe he is and he has sent his beloved son Jesus Christ to show us the way and how to pray always praying to the Father through the son This is the way our Lord has taught us and let us pray all things according to his will.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on.

Mat 7:9  Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
Mat 7:10  Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11  If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Here the lord likens earthly fathers to our heavenly Farther even unbelievers give good things to their children this is a very natural thing almost everyone loves their children and want's what is best for them and so our heavenly Father wants what is best for his children so let us pray to our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ and ask for the things he want's us to have for our spiritual well being and not for the things of the world.

Love and Peace
Dave
