Hi
Moving on.

Giving to the Needy
Mat 6:1  ?Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
Mat 6:2  ?Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
Mat 6:3  But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
Mat 6:4  so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Here we are commanded to go about our charitable works quietly and discreetly and God who is in heaven will see we do not need for anyone else to see so let us help others less fortunate that our selves quietly and with no fuss for we know our father sees us and that is enough.

Love and Peace

Hi
Next section.

Mat 6:5  ?And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
Mat 6:6  But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Mat 6:7  ?And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
Mat 6:8  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Here we have instructions for praying we should do it quietly behind closed doors nobody else need know what we pray for its between you and God I think we should talk to God in a quite friendly manner as you would talk to your best friend because he is your best friend not forgetting he knows what we need what is best for us so never forget to thank him.

Hi
Next our Lord teaches us how to pray.

.       9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11  Give us this day our daily bread.

12  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

How often do we recite these words without thinking what they mean the first thing our Lord teaches is to pray directly to the Father no one else it's only the Father who can grant our petition.
Next we should pray for his kingdom to come and that his will will be done here on earth let us pray for this with all our heart and soul.
Next we should pray for our daily bread not jest the bread we eat but the true bread that came down from heaven our Lord Jesus Christ let us feed every day on all his words the bread that gives eternal life.
Next we should pray for forgiveness of our sins as we forgive those who sin against us if we don't forgive those who sin against us then we will not be forgiven.
Next we pray that we will not be tempted with evil and our Father keep us from evil.
Knowing his kingdom will come he is all powerful and glorious.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on.

Mat 6:14  For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,
Mat 6:15  but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

So the prerequisite of our forgiveness  is that we forgive other's that trespass  against us how hard is that in this day and age when everything around us screams the opposite we must learn to do the opposite to what the world teaches to humble ourselves as our Lord did so that he could provide forgiveness for us through his blood.
Of course if we do not forgive other's then our Father in heaven will not forgive us so we will do well to follow the command of our Lord to forgive those who trespass against us.

Hi
Next verse

.  15  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

Should we follow the example of Christ and our Father who offers us forgiveness while we were still sinners Christ died for us is this the example we should follow.
A very difficult decision in this day and age but is this the way to show God's Love in this fallen world by showing it a better way.

Hi
Moving on.

.     16  Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

 17  But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

18  That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly

Here we are asked not to make a great fuss in front of others it is of no advantage to you I don't know if there are any who fast nowadays but if there are may they follow the instructions of our Lord above.
It is more important what the Father sees not what men see the Father sees what is in the heart and will reward us accordingly.

Love and Peace

Hi
The next section of anyone would like to join in please do.

.   19  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also

What good advice this is so long as we have enough for our daily needs let us be content of we don't have enough then it is not the Father who deprives us but greedy men who exploit us for gain.
No matter how much we accumulate in this life we will leave behind us when we die we came into the world with nothing and we leave with nothing.
But the treasure we build in heaven will last forever this treasure is our relationship with our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ our Lord let us feed on the bread of heaven the body of Christ and drink his blood the holy spirit the life is in the blood then we can stand before our heavenly Father on the last day and receive our heavenly treasure eternal life and be forever with the Lord.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

Mat 6:22  The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Mat 6:23  But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

I think this means keeping our eye on the light of the world Jesus Christ our Lord and letting that marvellous light fill our whole bodies our heart and mind and let lead us in our daily  walk  keeping our eye single this means keeping it on the one true light of life Jesus Christ our Lord.
If our eye is evil we will  be full of darkness taking our eye of Jesus and looking to the world for answers will fill us with darkness and that darkness will be total so be sure to keep your eye on Jesus and walk in the light.

Love and Peace
Dave
