Hi
Moving on.

Mat 5:17  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Here's an interesting verse what dose our Lord mean when he says he has come to fulfil the law is the law a type of prophecy in what respect has he come to fulfil it in the first instance it was given to Israel and if they obeyed the law God would be with them and fulfil all his promises to he had given them but they broke the law and God disciplined them according to the law.

So the Law has not bean abolished and our Lord fulfilled all aspects of the law he did this through Love if we love as we ought to then we also fulfil the law.
Christ fulfilled the law by obeying our heavenly Father in so doing he showed his great love for the father and for us by dying a horrible death on the Cross and he put all his Faith and  trust in the father and was not disappointed the father raised him up on the third day.

The other part of this verse is about the prophets here Christ endorses what all the prophets have said about him about his coming and what he would do and we would do well to listen to them.

Hi
Moving on

.
18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled

As we see the law shall remain to the end of this world until all things are fulfilled what does that mean.
I believe it means to the end of the millennium when all those who have been saved are living in peace love and harmony under our King Jesus Christ.
Everyone will comply with the law through Love loving God and loving one another this is the fulfilment of the law.

Love and Peace

Hi
The next verse is a bit strange.

Mat 5:19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

It seams that the first part of this verse is saying we can break the least of the commandments and still get into heaven and even if we teach others to break a lesser commandment we can enter in problem is what is a lesser commandment how dose one tell.
much better to follow the last part of the verse and keep the commandments and the best way to do that is through love as commanded by our lord.

Mat 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38  This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

so let us follow the law through LOVE.

Love and Peace

Hi
Next verse.

Mat 5:20  For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Here Christ is speaking about the clergy of his day but I think the same may apply to day in my opinion there is so much that is not right with in the different denominations why can't they get together and sort out there differences and let get back to one church under Christ Jesus our Lord as it should be they need to get back to the basics as we have them in scripture.
and practice the laws of love as we the rank and file should do if we wish our righteousness  to exceed that of the clergy of today.

Hi
Moving on.

Mat 5:21  ?You have heard that it was said to those of old, ?You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.?
Mat 5:22  But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ?You fool!? will be liable to the hell of fire.

Here our Lord starts to explain how hard the law is to keep just being angry with a brother we should not insult our brother or call him a fool so who is our brother I will let our Lord answer that question.

Mat_12:50  For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.?

So everyone who dose the will of the father are brothers and sisters and mothers we are all family members in Christ and the only way we can fulfil the above is through Love so let us love one another from the heart.

Hi
The next words of wisdom.

.     23  Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24  Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift

Here our Lord continues his theme making peace before we go to church and and offer our prayers and praise to God we need to think if we have anything against anyone or if anyone has anything against us to go to them and do everything in our power to resolve the problem even if it means humbling ourselves making peace through love.

Hi
Moving on.

Mat 5:25  Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison.
Mat 5:26  Truly, I say to you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.

More good advice from our Lord it's all about making peace with our fellow man lets do everything in our power to come to agreement with our adversaries let us show them the same Love our lord has shown us by humbling our selves as he has done.
the world today is all about aggression standing up for yourself and putting the other person down let us show the world a better way through Love let our Lords Love for us shine through so it is seen by our adversaries.

Love and Peace

Hi
Some more wonderful words from our Lord.
y
Mat 5:27  ?You have heard that it was said, ?You shall not commit adultery.?
Mat 5:28  But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

How many of us have been guilty of this of both sexes its so easily done one dose it without thinking espeicially  when one is young how to control this is very difficult but if we truly repent we can have forgiveness.
but if we can reject temptation we do even better so let us do our best to reject lustful intent in all things loving  and lusting after th wrong things is not good for our Christian walk.
Here are two more verses we would do well to take note of.

1Ti_6:10  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
Heb_13:5  Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ?I will never leave you nor forsake you.?

Love and Peace
Dave
