Hi
Moving on

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.   But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
Matthew 26:55-‬56 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.26.55-56.KJV

Here again our Lord refers us back to the scriptures which tells us everything that was to happen to him

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
Zechariah 13:7 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/zec.13.7.KJV

The sheep here are his decipels they were scattered  to save them from arrest and imprisonment and may be death

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.  Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Matthew 26:63-‬64 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.26.63-64.KJV

Here we see Jesus agreeing what the high priest had said and telling him what was to happen after his crucifixion and resurrection.
But the high priest did not believe him he was blinded by tradition their are none so blind as those who will not see.
But we who believe do see our Lord sat at the right hand of the Father and we will see his return in the cloud's  at his second coming to begin his millennial reign let us pray that it will be soon.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
Matthew 26:75 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.26.75.KJV

Here we have Peter recalling the words of our Lord he had jest denied our Lord three times which he had said he would never do how easy it was to do when under threat.
What a difference there would be after the apostles received the Holy Spirit they stood up and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone and never backed down despite everything  the authorities did to them even unto death they kept the faith and never denied the Lord.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on.

The next time our Lord speaks is on the cross when he says.

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Matthew 27:46 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.27.46.KJV

We cannot possibly imagen what agonies our Lord was going through to utter these words.
These are the first words spoken by our Lord after his arrest this was to fulfill  the prophecy from Isaiah

Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together and none of Gods plans can be thwarted all things prophicide will come to pass according to the will of God.

Love and Peace

Thank you TJ for your reply

Moving on

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.  Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Matthew 28:9-‬10 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.28.9-10.KJV

Here we have the women coming from the tomb where they had been told that Christ had risen from the dead when all of a sudden our Lord appeared before them and they fell down before him and worshipped him what a wonderful experience this must have been for them.
They were the first to see the risen Lord he had come to give them a message for his decipels to go into Galilee where he would meet them the women where the first to preach the good news that the Lord had risen what a wonderful privilege.

Hi
Moving on to the last words our Lord spoke in the gospel  of St Matthew

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:   Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:18-‬20 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.28.18-20.KJV

Here we see our Lord made king of Kings and Lord of Lords here our Lord turns his decipels into apostles  the difference being a decipel is one who follows an apostle  is one who is sent they are also of those who are chosen to further the spread of the word of God in the world.
They also received  the Holy Spirit without measure there was nothing man could do to then which would turn them from their commission
They were also given the commission of baptism for new converts through which we die to our old life and are reborn into the body of Christ.

These are the last words of our Lord in the gospel  of Matthew I would like to thank all those who have followed this study I hope it has been helpful to those who have read it if anyone has any questions please ask.

Love and Peace
Dave
