Hi
Moving on

.  7  They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

8  He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

9  And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery

Here we see the word of God overrides the word of man the next question is what constitutes marriage is it the act is sexual union as in Adam went into Eve and they became one.
Does this constitute marriage in God's eyes and the only thing that can break this union is the death of one of the partners then the one remaining can remarry.

Is there a higher meaning to this when Christ came into the world in the flesh he came to Israel to claim his bride the priesthood who rejected him they had also over the years resorted to idolatry a form of adultery the sentence of which is death Israel died in AD 70 which allows our Lord to claim his bride the church at his second coming.

Hi

Moving on

.      10  His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

11  But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12  For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

I think our Lord is that to give up wife and family for the sake of the gospel will reap a rich reward but of course it's not a necessity but an advantage.
I think when we have wife and children then it becomes easy to become distracted if a person has no ties they can concentrate all there efforts on God's work.

Hi

.   14  But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven

Interesting verse is it because little children have not learned the ways of grownups and the ways of right and wrong of course we are not told the age of these little children.
In another place our Lord says.

.       Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven

We become as little children after our baptism when we are reborn and we must become innocent as little children putting away all evil in thought word and deed not easy but we can have forgiveness through our Lord Jesus Christ but we should not use this as an excuse to sin.
The other thing about little children is they are eager to show their love and this is also required of us to show our love to our fellow man and in so doing we also show God's love for his creation.

Hi

.     16  And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17  And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18  He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19  Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

This was a strange thing for our Lord to say it implies that he was not good or was it because he was in the flesh and created in the same image of sinful man.
The man had asked what he must do to inherit eternal life and our Lord answer was keep the law as given to Moses of course the whole law boils down to one thing LOVE you shall love the Lord your God and you shall Love your neighbour as yourself if you do this you comply with the whole law never forgetting God is Love.

Hi

.      21  Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me

This was a hard saying the man was rich our Lord did not say give something to the poor but give everything to the poor how many of us could do that not an easy task especially if one has a wife and family so maybe it applies to those who do not have any dependencies.

Maybe we could look at it from a different perspective there are numerous churches around the world full of works of art gold and silver priceless treasures would it not be better to sell it all and use the proceeds to feed the starving give clean water to those who do not have.

Should the church's follow our Lord instructions to the rich man I'm pretty sure God does not want any of this wealth better to put it to good use.

Hi
Moving on

.   23  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24  And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25  When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are impossible

So is being rich a sin I think it depends on how you use your wealth of you hoard it and save it for no good reason especially if you profess to be a Christian and see your fellow man in need whom you are to love.
Is there really any need in this day and age for anyone to be in need has God provided enough for everyone if it is used and shared properly.
We spend untold billions in weapons of war to kill people but have no money to feed them and give them clean water.
Did not God create man on this planet to look after it and keep it but we are destroying it and allowing people to starve to death and to die from drinking dirty water we have plenty of money and technology to put men on the moon but can't get a cup of clean water to a child dying of thirst.

These words of St Paul are so true.

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows

Hi

.     28  And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29  And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

30  But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first

So nothing is impossible for God and those who give up everything for him will not be disappointed and the twelve apostles will judge the twelve tribes of Israel interesting that there are twelve tribes and twelve apostles one for each tribe.
Just had a thought an apostle is one who is sent our Lord sent the twelve out to preach the gospel to the world the question is was there any more that where sent into the world I don't think so they would not have a throne to sit and no one to judge.

So everyone who gives up every for Christ will inherit eternal life and those who are first will be last those that came first of course is Israel they will be last which means of course all those who belong to Christ will be first

Hi
Here our Lord tells us a parable.

.
1  For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

2  And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. note

3  And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

4  And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.

5  Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.

6  And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

7  They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

8  So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

9  And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

10  But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

11  And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,

12  Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. note

13  But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

14  Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

15  Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

16  So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen

What our Lord is saying here is a picture of the whole of creation and all those who have done the will of God many of which has given up much to do the work God has assigned them and the wages for this work is the same for all of them eternal life in the paradise of God.

Who are the called and the chosen I think the chosen are all the patriarch and the apostles they are those who have been chosen to preach God's word to the world such is all those who are called who have the freewill to accept or reject the message.

Love and peace
Dave
