Hi

Next.

Mat 13:57  And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

I think this is self explanatory dose not need an explanation from me.

Next we have.
                                     Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

Dose this account tell us something different from the obvious our Lord tells the disciples

Mat 14:16  But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
Mat 14:17  And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
Mat 14:18  He said, Bring them hither to me.

is this a mirror image of what will happen later after his crucifixion when he sends the apostles out to feed the world with the word of God our Lord Jesus Christ is the bread of heaven he is the food of life

Joh_6:53  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Love and Peace

Hi
Moving on

31  And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt

Our Lord said these words to Peter when Peter left the boat and started to walk on the water it seemed to go ok at first but then Peter got scared and began to doubt and began to sink.
This shows us the power of faith we really need to believe we are told in another place.

.
Mat 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you

So let us believe and build up our faith.

Love and Peace

Hi
next section

Mat 15:1  Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,
Mat 15:2  ?Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.?
Mat 15:3  He answered them, ?And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
Mat 15:4  For God commanded, ?Honor your father and your mother,? and, ?Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.?
Mat 15:5  But you say, ?If anyone tells his father or his mother, ?What you would have gained from me is given to God,?
Mat 15:6  he need not honor his father.? So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God.
Mat 15:7  You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:
Mat 15:8  ??This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
Mat 15:9  in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.??

here the Pharisees and scribes accuse the disciples of breaking the law but our Lord answers them by pointing out that they break the law with their man made traditions and not following the commandments of God.
the question is  many of  the churches of today guilty of the same thing is this why we have so many denominations is what separates them man made traditions.
we really need to stick to the word of God and not the word of man.

Hi
Moving on

Mat 15:10  And he called the people to him and said to them, ?Hear and understand:
Mat 15:11  it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.?

Yes and we need to understand as well its not always what men say but what God says that counts and we need to to take it to heart and when we speak let us speak from the heart the things God wants us to say to show his love for our fellow man.
the things that come out of our mouth can be  terrible hateful unloving so let us be careful and say the words of God which saved up in our hearts and not defile ourselves stop before we speak and search our hearts for Gods words.

Hi
moving on

Mat 15:12  Then the disciples came and said to him, ?Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying??
Mat 15:13  He answered, ?Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.
Mat 15:14  Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.?

This is a bit strange what dose our Lord mean by referring to people as Plants bit like when our Lord cured the Blind man and he saw men walking like trees makes one think of the fifth day of creation.
Israel is seen as a tree its branches have bean cut of and we have been grafted in  is this the plant that God has planted and all the rest will be rooted out lets make sure we remain in the tree that God has planted.
who are the blind guides in Christs day it was the priests of the temple who taught the doctoring s of men and not the words of God are we in danger of the same thing happening today with all the different church denominations preaching the word of men and not the word of God lets get back to the scriptures and what they say.

Hi
Next section

.
16  And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

17  Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

18  But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

19  For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20  These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man

Again the disciples ask for an explanation but their understanding would come later after the resurrection when Christ was taken up and the Holy spirit was given.
So what we eat has no effect on our spiritual life it's what comes out of the mouth which has a great effect on our spiritual life what we speak of comes from deep inside us from the heart and if our heart is full of evil then this is what we speak.
So let us cleanse our hearts with the word of God so that when we speak let show the love of God

Love and peace
Dave

Hi
Moving on

.       devil.

23  But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25  Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26  But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27  And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour

Here we see that the Lord was only sent to the house of Israel he was sent to save Israel but the persistence of the woman shows us the power of faith.
The bread spoken of here is of course our Lord he is the bread that came down from heaven in the first instance to feed Israel when they refused to eat he offered himself to the world through his death and resurrection we are no longer only offered crumbs but the full loaf so let us eat and grow in the Lord.

Hi
Moving on

.     32  Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

33  And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?

34  And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes

Here we have the miracle of the feeding of the multitude on the mountain have wondered if the 7 loaves is a mirror image of our Lord the bread that came down from heaven to feed the whole world 7 loaves one for each day of creation.

Love and peace
Dave
