Their was no one like job in all the earth ....  eg:  Job 1:8

Therefore no one can align themselves with him !

Hi
We always assume that Job lived thousands of years ago may be he did  but we need to consider that God and satan live in eternity  there is no time so what they say can be applied to any time on our time scale.
So who is the perfect righteous man is it not Christ and his Church the church the body of Christ is clothed in the righteousness of Christ so God is saying look at this perfect man and allows satan to test him.
Faith has to be tested that's why the true church has been tested from the beginning.

Love and Peace

Where do you get the idea that Satan lives in eternity, not in the bible that's for sure.
Satan is a created being just like you and me Dave.
Satan has a beginning and an and, whereas God is without beginning or ending.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

I suppose in a way Jesus has changed - as He became flesh and dwelt amongst us and experienced life as we know it and then returned to the Father - so in a sense - He was never the same ...
I don't think that statement stands up.

Heb13v8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Rev22v13"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."

Isaiah46v10Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Someone once said that time was created to prevent all things happening at the same time. The fact is that God dwells outside of time and can most certainly comprehend the whole panoply of time at once. Man cannot possibly comprehend or explain this, and any attempt to so will always be puerile.

Not only can God witness the future, but create and arrange things so that man's freewill choices for good or evil will only and always serve his purposes and objectives.

Hi Frances
Thank you for your reply yes satan was created but not like you and me he was created as an angel of light a spiritual being and according to revelations will live for ever and ever.

.Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever

Ok Dave, good point, but you said God and Satan lives in eternity, that means Satan has no beginning either like God.

Hi Frances
When satan was created he was created as an eternal being and we also who believe in Christ will also inherit eternal life.

15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

So even now if we are in the body of Christ then we have eternal life from the day we accepted Jesus Christ as our saviour.
Does this mean we shall live in eternity with God.

Love and Peace
Dave
