Colin,
We are not about showing or proving that Christians are better people, because we know that we are sinners, saved by grace.

Christianity is not just about what we say, but it is also about what we do.
As Jesus said, by there fruit you will know them.

As I've said what spiritual value is there in nice words that are not matched by a lifestyle?

Dave,
It is not a case of what is more important or of bringing sinners to Christ.

It is a question of obedience. Jesus said if we love him we will obey him.
That means living a life that is as Christ like as we can live, where words and actions agree.
If this  enables us to have oppertunity to witness then we should take that oppertunity.

Hi John
Thanks for your reply yes you are right obedience is most important and what shall we be obedient to what did our Lord command us LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES,
If we are obedient to all these then we comply with all Gods laws

And if we comply with these we will do good to all and the  greatest gift we can give others is the word of God

Love and Peace

Nise words mean little but Spiritual words are all that matter in the case of being a Christian. You even said it yourself, by their fruit. What fruit is it you think he is speaking. What fruit did Adam and Eve eat off. The fruit of their labours when you study the bible is knowledge and God is good so being of Spirit your fruit is good but a bad tree cannot bare good fruit. All good things come from God and the Spirit of truth teaches us that. When you teach the Bible as the flesh you follow the Spirit of John the Baptist and baptize eith the waters of the bible , not the Spirit.

Colin,
"but Spiritual words are all that matter in the case of being a Christian. "
You claim that God has spoken to you, but you come out with this unbiblical statement.

Anyone can say spiritual things. As a Christian we need to look to see if their/our life matches what they/we say.

John the Baptist challenged the pharasis who went to him for baptism, 'to produce fruit that showed their change of heart/repentance!'
Paul complained about 'doing the evil he didn't want to do!'
If one has the spiritual fruits of love, joy, peace etc this will be seen in ones life and how one behaves towards others.

We are not saved by how we life but niether are we to live in any fashion.

If you have the spirit you will know I am talking biblical truths.

[/quote)  Didn't Paul say ,( I believe in Christ Crusifed ) That's raised up past the flesh and we have to get there to by giving up the flesh and seeking Spiritual teaching and understanding. That is the truth, the Light, The Holy Spirit, and the only way. Being good doesn't get you into heaven, we are all sinners, wretches men and women. Saved by grace and Raised by God.

Hi
The question is are we in the flesh or in the spirit of maybe I should say is the Spirit in us that is the Spirit of Christ living in us which leads us in the way we should go.
How do we acquire this Spirit by being washed by the pure water of God's word and die to self and be reborn in the Spirit.

.Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire

So the baptism we should seek is the baptism of Christ Spirit and fire.

Love and Peace
