What is the sword Jesus spoke of.
Jesus sais to his disciples, think not that I have come to bring peace, not peace but a sword. I have my opinion but what is your thoughts on that ?

I don't know - how can Jesus bring peace - when He divides the intentions of the heart and so divides people..

In another way "God brings a new family together" so that in His division - He brings peace of heart... by giving us a new family...

Ths is a double edged sword and being used by Jesus [this is not of human persuasion or human descision...

So you have the Sword that divides..

But you also have the experience - that divides...

People can  live within their own worlds and they can be their own gods.

Christian or not...

It does not mean that the person born with Christian parents and in the Church is anymore less -  than a person borrn from the world - because God does not judge as we judge ...

Anymore - than our thoughts are His thoughts.....

Do you think it's the Sword that MAY FELT ?

Well Tess your thoughts are somewhat as mine but I see the word f God as the sword. The new testament is Jesus' sword and living by it takes your life. Jesus himself is the sword and you see this in revelation where they come before him and fall to the floor dead until Jesus tells the get up. If you live by the new testament without spiritual understanding, you die by it ,meaning you have a dead Spirit. Live by the sword you die by the sword. The sword is for to put ytour enemies into bondage tell its time to set them free.

Luke 2:35 34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary:  Behold, this Child is appointed to cause the rise and fall of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed and a sword will pierce your soul as well.

Yeah, whereas the sword that pierced Jesus was a literal sword, the sword that pierced Mary was a spiritaul sword ?

Literally affecting her.

It could be said to be "todays Judgement" I suppose...

Dividing thoughts as in Hebrews 4:12  as obviously we will not have bones and marrow once in a new body !

I wonder if it is an "it" or should we call it "He" ?

Well now I wonder because the new testament ia also the body of Jesus and I beleave the literal word is his flesh and his literal word is the sword. The word takes away the old life they lived and starts the new life but created in the literal. this is what people have to overcome, this world and if you think about it there is a lot of selfishness in what people expect. Not to say we don't receive a eturnal life when we overcome the flesh and get the Spirit of truth from above.
