Hi Nostalgia
Thank you for your post some really good thoughts and insights to such I can agree that seeing the scripture come alive in our time is exciting when one considers when they were written one can not doubt that God has foretold it.

Hi Frances
your post said

me
God has proved that crime and punishment does not work he proved it with Israel
you
God proved no such thing, and scripture says the complete opposite of your false assertions.

Give me the scripture that proves what you say from the moment God brought Israel out of Egypt to the sacking of Jerusalem in AD70 God tried everything to bring Israel to obey his laws and none of it worked they still did not obey and God new this would happen so why put Israel through all this suffering I say to teach them and us a Lesson the lesson being disobedience and punishment dose not work.

so give me the scripture that says God seceded with Israel

me
but through Christ he offers us a better way crime and forgiveness and the only way to over come evil is with love.
you
Unbiblical nonsense. Go read the verses about the judgement seat of Christ. Forgiveness is never given to the unrepentant.
Quote

Where on earth have you read that I said that Christ forgives the unrepentant what I am saying is if we sin and confess our sins he will forgive us we and all those who repent forgiveness is offered to everyone even the unrepentant but they need to change their mind and repent
me
So how should we talk to our politicians and would they listen you say our country is built on Christianity who's Christianity man's or Gods.
you
And the Christ of Christianity will not forgive the unrepentant wicked but condemn them.

Can't see what your anser has to do with my question which is basically which Christian church shall we follow there are to many to count so I say we need to get back to basics and follow the scriptures and not man made theories

me
Do you approve of the crusades as a way of furthering God word do you believe it right to preach that the God of love will burn alive unbelievers in a literal lake of fire and this is the gospel we should preach.
you
Its difficult debating with you when you completely disregard the scriptures and substitute your own fantasy world.

on the contrary Frances almost everything I post is backed up by scripture which you tend to ignore you only give me your opinion which dose not count for a great deal and neither dose mine what counts is what God says.
If you by debating I have to agree with everything you say then I'm afraid I can't do that but I do like crossing swords with you keeps my two little grey cells working thank.

Before referring to scripture, or science, what about just using common sense.  Stand on any busy city road for a few minutes and breathe in the air, you might start coughing, or your eyes may be irritated, it doesn?t take a rocket scientist to link the poor air quality to the cause.

I have no doubt the scriptures describe events which could be construed, and may well be, playing out, however, before we start getting carried away, why are our seasons merging, ice caps melting, our sea temperature rising, and what we should be asking is, is this Gods will, or a man made problem.  These days we are fortunate, we can check data, get information etc at the click of a button, having done this, i?m convinced global warming is a real threat, and entirely man made.  As such, mankind has to take serious action, to slow down the damage we have, and continue to do.  God has the end times all sorted, he doesn?t need over exuberant or misguided souls forcing his hand (don?t crucify me for that, can?t think of a better way of putting it).

The good thing about evidence is, it?s true, whether you like it or not, it?s still true, and no matter who says it or why they say it, it?s still true.  Look at credible data, there?s lots, you can check sources too.  Mostly though, use common sense, it?s not for you, it for your children, grandchildren and future generations.

It is very clear that the enviroment is of no concern as they are pushing battery powered electric cars which are far more polluting to make (Due to the battery manufacture) then the entire polution to make and keep a petrol or diesel car on the road for its lifetime. If they were serious about global warming, all new electric vehicles would run on a pantograph while in a city and then have a small conventional engine to use inbetween towns or even be loaded on to trains to transport them like they do daily in Switzerland. Secondly, like Switzerland we would have a single day a week where no businesses are open and no vehicles are allowed on the roads. This would vastly reduce pollution, especially if on that day they also shut down the electricity supply. This will save a seventh of our polution. If we did it two days a week (E.g. every weekend) we would have virtually no pollution.
The real question to ask is why we are not knocking down half the council owned houses and adapting the remaining houses into shared residence of a two up two down nature shareing the same heating and electric supply.  The bedroom tax does the opposite as it forces more small individual houses to be built. Instead, if they changed the laws and allowed council tennants to sub let it would not only house the homeless but also allow the tennents to earn money so they won't need to claim benefits. So not only does it save the enviroment, it saves the country money.
Years ago houses were very enviromentally friendly in how they were built and how they were used. Cattle were kept underneath the bedroom and the eat from the animal would keep the people upstairs warm which also meant that one only had to light a fire for daily cooking etc. It also kept the animals warmer. Houses designed for this in mind were made right into Victorian times in certain areas and some were even found in towns where a horse was kept inside. These town houses usually had a wider passageway alongside the main front door where the horse was taken through and settled for the evening in a room. Such houses would have three downstairs "Living rooms", the back one (Usually the largest) would be for the horse where the horse would be led through the passageway to gain entry via a back door (When kitchens and bathrooms later came along and horses no longer needed (Motor cars etc) an extension would be made to the house to provide this), and other house designs had an entrance via a side door leading off the passageway. The horse passageway tradition was likely not used when things started to change as old designs which were out of necessity were carried on. The later use was for the front room for high class guests, the middle room became used for lower class guests and the back room where th horse was kept would be a family living room. Typically such houses had high ceilings downstairs and when the horse at the back was there, the front room (Often with a large bay window) was the living room, the middle room for hay or other horse feed storage.
In Wales it aas common in earlier years to have longhouses on one story (Apart from one end having a downstairs for cattle as most were built on a slope so bedrooms would be above) and the outer walls were made from stone and whitewashed (At first every other year to build up a layer and then around once every ten years after this) and inner walls were made by mixing cow dung with a weaved wall made from brambles. The cow dung provided an excellent insulated form of plaster which prevented heat loss. (Anyone who has worked in a farm enviroment knows that when cow pats have dried out, how ideal they are for such a purpose. Any damp runs off them and they have a dry warm feel... Much like modern day polysteirene. Dry cow dung has no odour).
Stone varied from place to place. Stone has an advantage over brick in that though it is much colder at first, when it does heat up it retains its heat and is why stone walls of houses were never internally plastered. Also whitewash (Limewash) was used because it would stop rain getting in and yet let dampness out from the stonework.
Sadly, as bricks became more popular and builders were trained to lay bricks and deal with the qualities brick built structures needed, stone built houses started to be plastered inside and plastered with rendering out which tended to lock in dampness into the wall where the house itself tended to be cold and difficult to heat. The new current method of adding an insulatingnlayer on the outside gives no chance for the stone to breathe.
Brick built houses (Once technology caught up) were made with a cavity which had to be kept intact to allow the cavity idea to work. Filling in this cavity with insulation does allow warmth but the whole idea of a cavity is to deal with dampness, and by filling in the cavity one traps dampness inside the house as it has no where to escape. It is said that with modern warm heating systems in a semi damp enviroment is the main cause to the reason why some older diseases are on the rise as bacteria thrive in a warm buy moist enviroment.

Hi @Carpenters Son.

Some interesting points, though i don?t agree with all.  It would be far more effective if we could phase out diesel cars for instance, the volume of vehicles and the poisonous emissions have a real and devastating effect.  Just because the government doesn?t appear to be doing much, is no reason to ignore the blatant warning signs, you do have a mind of your own, and governments have to juggle priorities and also find funding.

There is a much more enviromentally friendly method to deal with diesel vehicles and this is to use vegetable based oils as fuel. Diesel is unrefined petrol and is much cheaper to produce (When I was younger diesel used to be much cheaper to buy then petrol before it was given a much higher fuel tax. It used to be taxed the same as petrol). If one further refines petrol one gets LPG. Most LPG is burnt off from the top of refining towers as the market for it is small and if it wasn't burnt off, pure LPG would leak into the enviroment causing not only pollution but a very hazardous safety concern. The bottom end is tar. All these products come from crude oil which is basically compressed vegetation. To prove this, petrolium scientists were able to make a barrel of crude oil in just one hour from ordinary household waste. Coal is basically very compressed vegetable matter. The sulphur that comes from coal is the same as you see if you had a wildfire raging out of conteol, except in coal (And oils) it is concentrated so it is like burining a whole trees worth of vegetation all at the same time.
Crude oils themselves have two theories in how they are formed and the second is the one many scientists are now leaning towards. The first is that every year the earth produces a layer of dust (We call soil) from the plants. The bottom layers are compressed and moisture trapped in forming i to pockets of compressed rotting vegetation we know as crude oil. The second theory is linked to the first in that crude oil also found below the plates of the earth and acts as a form of lubrication, and this oily substance is continually being formed. The theory came about after oilworkers revisited manh long abandoned worked out oilfields to find them renewed with a fresh supply of oil. They were unable to account for this as they knew the old wells had been totally worked out from the oldtimers who had abandoned them many years ago. They were taught that oil takes millions of years to form and clearly this wasn't the case.
It is believed that the earth uses oil to lubricate its plates and the description is similar to how our bodies have their joints lubricated. In this way the earth is almost thought about as a self sustaining living organism which points towards a creative genius of a design.
The way that salt is in the seas where by salt is the ultimate purifier of germs and the daily tides and currents shifting aiding this purifying (Washing) process. The skies with the continual processes of oxygen production by plants which need carbon dioxide to survive. The winds blowing fresh oxygen and the rains providing moisture and a washing of the earth. It all points towards a genius and carefully worked out creation rather then a random rare explosive event.
Going back to the diesel engine. Diesel vehicles actually run better on vegetable oils and burn much cleaner (As diesel produced from refining crude oils is in a more concentrated form). Now a diesel engine can easily be boosted up by producing hydrogen on the move. If you pass an electrical current through water it seperates the hydrogen and oxygen particles (Water is H2O which is two parts hydrogen to one part oxygen). The hydrogen created is fed into the diesel vehicles intake and when the hydrogen is burnt in the combustion process, it is reunited to the oxygen and comes out of the exhaust as water.  As hydrogen is a very explosive fuel sourch (And a very thin gas which is almost impossible to contain without leaks) the engine gets a lot of power boost from burning it and therefore increasing the fuel economy of the vehicle. In winter any vegetable oils really need additives to thi them and help the vehicle start. (Why most diesel car owners who use vegetable oil will mix it with a greater part of diesel during the winter months and reduce the diesel and have more vegetable oil in the summer. These additives also prevent engine wear etc though begetable oil itself is a good lubricant so is generally better for the engine).

Further thoughts on diesel vehicles.
Diesel is a less refined fuel then petrol and hence unburnt particles will linger near the ground rather then any unburnt petrolium particles which tend to head upwards. (Hence designs of diesel and petrol exhaust pipes are normally different (Though for economy reasons some modern cars use the same exhausts which should not really be allowed). Exhausts on petrol cars should point backwards to send out the exhausted gasses to the rear so any unburnt fuel will disperse upwards. They don't direct them upwards because anyone standing to the back of the vehicle would get a lung full of exhaust gasses! Think of exhaust gasses in the same way as smoke from a fire. Incidently, if we stopped all fires and volcano smoke from the earth the plants would die out as they rely on carbon dioxide to survive. The issues we get are when we have many fires (Via engines or open fires) in the confined enviroment of a city that by nature has much less plants to deal with the excess of carbon dioxide in the area.
Now a diesel engine exhaust is to point downwards as the idea is to have unburnt particles (Which are heavy) settle on the ground rather then be trying to reach the ground. This is why the end of a diesels car exhaust is designed to point in a downwards direction. With taller vehicles they used to try to have thw exhaust as high as possible so the exhaust would be carried out the way much in the same way as the smoke from a steam locomotive is dealt with (Though with a steam locomotive the draught effect formed by pointing a chimney  up in the air makes the fire burn brighter and thus makes producing steam easier and therefore increasing fuel efficiency and overall performance. It was also found that internal streamlining in regards to the exhaust steam of a steam locomotive to have a large effect onnthe locomoties performance, hence many of the well loved larger steam locomotive express locomotives were able to maintain high speeds. Draught of a chimney is also important with regards to traditional wood or coal house fires where the lower parts of the chimney (Very visual on an open type fire) are angled in such a way so that it causes a draught and therefore encourages the fire to burn. Try keeping a fire in with an open fireplace that does not have the correct angles!)

Catalitic converters fitted to motor vehicles are basically designed to deal with any unburnt fuel and to heat it up so it is burnt, thereby reducing the harmful emissions. An engine that can efficiently burn fuel will emit very little polution. If it were possibe eliminate all friction and have the perfect explosion in an engine one can eliminate almost all polution.

Here is something to consider when we watch the news and they point their cameras at factories claiming they give off harmful polution (I don't dissagree in some cases depending on what is being produced etc but read on). The camera man will typically zoom in on a cooling tower which emits impressive white clouds. How does a cooling tower work and what is in the clouds that are seen above the tower? Why is a cooling tower needed?
A cooling tower is normally a curved type of tower which is wider at the bottom then it is at the top. The very bottom is usually raised to provide a large gap so air can get in. Basically  in its simplest form, a cooling tower is designed to cool a liquid which is either a liquid which is some sort of chemical (Read on) or water. Now the chemical or water is kept inside sealed pipes and these pipes are fed outside the factory and into the cooling tower. The coolingntower normally has a bath of water in it where these pipes are wound round. The gap at the bottom of the tower makes a draught of air form, while the bath of water cools the pipes (Hence the steam). The steam is forced upwards by the draught and this is what you see. It is steam formed from water. Nothing poluting at all about it!
If the cameramen want to show polution they should look at the taller thin towers and examine what comss out of them! There is a huge issue of deception here where the TV news companies are showing deceptive information and they should be held accountable for this as many of them know what they are doing. (If they didn't know they are excused).
