I'm all for personal responsibility, but college loans are so bad for the society I feel like. People at that age are way too young to be taking such loans, and when they get out of college they have to start chasing the money straight away. That's just rotten.

How right you are @Heyden .
I remember distinctly when the idea of student loans was first presented on the news. I said right then to my wife, this has got absolutely nothing to do with funding further education, it's entire purpose is to shackle young people into huge never ending debt even before they get into paid employment.
Its purpose is to make the next generation slaves to the banks.
The recent decades have proven my prognosis.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)
