Come on MG, you can do better than to take verses out of context. Of necessity, we make judgements daily throughout our lives, and God actually instructs us to do so, but to do it righteously.

Here's the context.-
Matthew7v1?Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2?For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3?Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother?s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4?Or how can you say to your brother, ?Let me take the speck out of your eye,? and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5?You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother?s eye.

The scripture closes by confirming the fact that if you apply correct judgement in your own life, you will be able to apply judgement in your brother's life.
As can be seen, the constantly quoted mantra from the church and the world, that we shouldn't judge, has no scriptural basis.

Other than that, I agree about the corrupt media.

Hi
I would just like to say I agree with everything MG has said.

As for the scripture Frances has quoted I see he ha only used the last line to make his point and ignored the rest.
If we are talking about context then we need to look at the whole quotation and it seems to me the consequences of judging wrongly are not good so it is best not to judge at all.

Love and Peace
Dave

That's plainly not true Dave.
I was merely pointing out MGs out of context quote, showing what the verse was aiming at which is found in the last line.

For you to conclude its "best not to judge at all" is an appalling assessment of that verse.
The purpose of Jesus using that parable is that we must also judge ourselves by the same standard we judge others.

By completely rejecting the idea of making any judgements, you are also rejecting what Jesus said.
John7v24Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.?

When good people abdicate making righteous judgements, it simply guarantees that judgement is left in the hands of evil people.

Edmund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing."
This is where we are now.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Hi Frances
Thank you for your reply so you believe we sinners are in a good position to make righteous judgements you can see into mens hearts and judge them as God dose.

we are all sinners and as such have logs in our eyes different logs for different people and as such can not see clearly so its best to leave all judgement to our righteous judge.

Quote
Edmund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing."

I am not advocating doing nothing we are at war against evil and our weapon is the sword of truth which is the word of God and God is Love
Confrontation begets confrontation its a vicious circle.

Love and Peace

You're not arguing with me Dave, you are arguing against the plain teaching of scripture.

Matt7v5?You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
In the above verse, what does the metaphor, "take the speck out of your brother's eye," mean.

1Cor6v1If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord?s people? 2Or do you not know that the Lord?s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?
Out of your own mouth Dave, despite Paul's command above, you have declared yourself unable to make any judgement whatsoever.
How can anyone help in such circumstances if he abdicates any form of judgement.

Dave, can't you see that every time you look for a new job or house or car, you make judgements. Every time you listen to a sermon, you should be making judgements.
Every time you vote, you pass judgement.
You pass judgement every single day of your life. To declare judgement a sin is a bizarre interpretation of scripture, but never mind Dave, most of the church fall down that same hole.

For one so adamant against making judgement, how come you always judge against everything I post! Lol.

Judgement for a non believer is all about punishment [this topic would not have made sense to me before I was 21]

I am speaking from my experience..

I did a search on the forum and came up with https://www.1faith.co.uk/?topic=4282.msg35997#msg35997

This was at a time when I was far more "FIRED UP"  and was "FEDUP" with this "Holy Life"  and actions "being that we had to seem to be living the perfect life"

[yes I called myself Alien R]  as I got bored with using the same name and afterward called myself TJ - as I got bored again..

It all comes from the "perfect family" and the whole "I have to be seen as perfect for a congregatioin to follow me"

Having lived with leaders "I got fedup with this "IMAGE"..

So anyway - back to the D Trump image....

Funny we find a replication here ....
