Do you not think that Donald Trump is also made in God's image? As erroneous as he may or may not be, don't you think that Christ loves him just the same? To then start insulting God's creation is a bit erroneous in my opinion.
HFG, I disagree with the assessment of Trump that @TaraH makes, but your argument doesn't stand. Jesus did his level best to insult and wind up the religious leaders of the day, rejecting the idea that all men were children of God.

John8v41Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
That's what you think says Jesus!

42Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Hi @HalfFullGuy ,

I sincerely hope Donald J Trump is not made in the image of god, and no i have no problem with my criticism of him.  I?ve no doubt god loves him as he does Peter Sutcliffe, Adolf Hitler etc etc.  I?ll repeat my OP - is he a good christian?  My opinion is, he is not a christian at all, he merely trots out the odd bit of scripture to rustle up the evangelical votes, he?s not even clever enough to disguise it.

@TaraH I don't think you have presented anything indicating whether Trump is a good Christian or not.

Sadly there are many so called Christian ministers over there who have levelled all sorts of accusations against Trump, whilst at the same time stirring up all sorts of evil racism in their own congregations.

Hi @francis drake ,

Intentionally so, it?s only my opinion, based on the blatant lies, acts of sexism and racism, and the general chaos he seems intent on causing.  The bible belt in power is a frightening proposition.

Do not judge lest ye be judged.
It is not our calling to judge others. We dont know anything about the individual lives of other people. We only know what the corrupt media say about them and try to get us to believe about them.

Hi @Mountain Goat ,

Everyone is entitled to an opinion.  Why bother voting in elections etc, we judge all the time, nearly everything we do, and everyone we meet, is affected by judgement.

Thanks though, i think i may be asking the wrong questions, i?ll try and avoid asking for opinions.

I apologise. It is just a concern that we maybe tearing down instead of building up. No countries leader gets to power without God allowing it even if the man or woman is evil in His sight.

Come on MG, you can do better than to take verses out of context. Of necessity, we make judgements daily throughout our lives, and God actually instructs us to do so, but to do it righteously.

Here's the context.-
Matthew7v1?Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2?For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3?Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother?s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4?Or how can you say to your brother, ?Let me take the speck out of your eye,? and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5?You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother?s eye.

The scripture closes by confirming the fact that if you apply correct judgement in your own life, you will be able to apply judgement in your brother's life.
As can be seen, the constantly quoted mantra from the church and the world, that we shouldn't judge, has no scriptural basis.

Other than that, I agree about the corrupt media.

Indeed @TaraH you are entitled to your opinion, and even if I accuse you of being wrong, please don't stop.

I agree, and have used the exact same example to link judgement and voting. Sadly there are certain notions that have crept into the church, and into popular currency, not judging anything being one of them.

That leads on to the modern idea that truth is relative, and we can all choose our own truth, there being no right and wrong any more.

In my mind, falling for the mantra about not judging anything, just hands power to evil people to make those judgements for you.

And my judgement/opinion is that you are wrong on Trump, but I haven't time to explain why now. I'll try later.
