Hi everyone,

I?m interested to know what people believe:-
Creation or Evolution?

Thanks

Tara

Hi @TaraH and welcome..

Depends what you mean by creation and evolution...

To some "evolution " can mean adaptation or as the earth's plates moved around "animals evolved to fit"
it can mean " single cells multiplying creating new  life = evolution" - where single cell organisms evolve  into multicellular life..

To others it means we evolved from apes  as in "Darwin's theory"

Creation can mean many things to many people - as in "God created an Ape"

God does not exist and we are here by chance..

Then you have a mix of beliefs from Christians - as in "we have not changed since Adam and Eve - in fact we have gone backwards in our
evolution and have entered into a sinful state and devolved..

The whole question really depends on whether you - believe God as the origin of life...

In this I really cannot see how God would create an ape to become a human ..

When it clearly states in scripture "that God created a person and a woman from his side"

I take you back to a childhood secret - whispers " if you cut a worm in two it becomes two worms" wooo  evolution ...

[Depends on where you cut the worm - though...]

One person will now argue that the worm was once a snake and another will argue that - the worm was made to do this...

Often people will forget that God is still at work now... and also has a reason for His existence - today - and that He can regenarate a worm...
...

This is the altermate argument in the heart - today...  why does God continue to exist ?  [when we no longer need Him in our world]

Hi @Tes Johnson ,

Evolution to me is summed up perfectly as follows:-

Life on earth evolved gradually beginning with one primitive species - perhaps a self-replicating molecule-that lived more than 3.5 billion years ago; it then branched out over time, throwing off many new and diverse species; and the mechanism for most (but not all) of evolutionary change is natural selection.

Hi @Tes Johnson ,

This is fairy tales Tara.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...????.self replicating molecule. Perhaps Father Christmas also.

If as claimed, animals could actually modify themselves in stages to facilitate evolution, then such modification must by its very nature also be regularly visible today in the current animal kingdom.
Sadly for evolutionists, no such modifications have been found in been in recorded, or recent history.
Where mutations have occurred, they have invariably been negative, leading to early death. ie. Being born with two heads is not beneficial for animal or man.

The age of this planet is nowhere sufficient to cope with the gazillions of micro changes needed to change that molecule into even simple life, let alone mankind.

The media regularly comes up with some fossil find that must be the "missing link" between the ape and man etc., yet in reality we are not talking about one missing link, it requires trillions of missing links.

And despite over one hundred years of searching, no missing links have been found! Where are they Tara?
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Hi @francis drake

Your remarks are derogatory and completely misguided.  I suggest you look again, and try and understand basic evolution, before you try and counter with such a feeble, graphic of science.  Just because you don?t believe it, doesn?t mean it?s not true.

Tarah - are you a Christian scientist ?

I mean - can you also believe that God can mutiply  ?

From  a  single seed to many [biblical story]

How can God be above the science He created and even make it move outside of human understanding ?

Would love to find out more about you..

Hi @Tes Johnson ,

Thanks for your reply.  I was fully prepared to ?share all?, but, after the hostile reception to my very general post creation or evolution, i decided not to.  Apparently I have spent the last 40 yrs, working on fairy tales, or worse the Bible is not for me.  All us scientists do is try and find fault with everything, we should just leave we?ll alone.  Now, it seems i?m an imposter.  Not who i say i am.  Oh and it?s me that?s being sensitive?

I said on a recent post i came here for a bit of support, having a bit of a crisis, i?d like to thank @Deborah , she was most kind and helpful with her piece, that helped me a lot.

Yes sharing and typing is a pain on my phone, since i?m out of the country, and don?t have my own laptop.

As for what i believe, i?m not willing to share now, this environment seems very hostile and i don?t actually feel comfortable at all, nor up to defending myself from further ridicule  and will probably delete my account on my return.  This isn?t the place for me, ive had my credibility,  and now my identity questioned, therefore my honesty too, hardly a friendly start.
