True but he will never listen if you try and put out a fire with fire.

Amen

sad is it not that having been confused and misled you are now misleading others and denying and robbing them of their salvation - so lets get it straight once and for all that only Christians will be saved and that we by the grace of God were non Christians but born again as Christians - we have no say in our creation or our salvation - in God's master plan all will be born again as Christians imho - wincam

No I will not cancel you out - because you are catholic.

In the asme way I will not cancel out  - Jewish woman  -  because they are Jewish [the name Mary was a common name "in scriptural  times"] a common person is also included in God's family..

Hey this person is Jewish .. No.

Jesus reached out to a bigoted Jeiwsh  community to make His message clear. [including women]

To act out [what we now call the written word]  reaching out to a very negative and limited culture - "amazing that this culture was affected by a Word - that was written "before they were born" - by Jesus..

This tended to limit them [ [ as it does now today ]   strange...

People tend to read into words or bend them to fit into their lives ..

The good news is that all are welcome into the life of Jesus... [even Mary]

I have to add - that Mary had "no choice" she did not decide to become pregnant by the Holy Spirit...

This was God's descision... and Jesus decided to be born into this bigoted / limited / society/ that was limited by  a past written word [inspired by the Holy Spirit]  past tense...

What I am getting at is that a past scripture inspired by the Holy Spirit - does not conclude that my bigoted response is of God..

Let God be born into my world today - as Jesus was born into a Jewish community - that sent people to be outcasts and regarded women as second class  citizens...

That regarded Church as a synagogue where women were separate from men ..

Man, there is this preacher in town that virtually shouts the gospel in peoples faces - I dont blame the people for getting fed up with being bible bashed by him.

What really got me though is that he walked down the other side of my road and he said hello and me being a turkey I said hello back.

I still pray for him though I just dont want to encourage ear bashing in public as people are getting well annoyed and going anti-Christian because of it.

There is a real life practical example of how we need to give a reason the hope we have but do it with gentleness and respect.

Tell me if I sound like I am blowing my horn but I felt so good the other night - the best I have felt for ages; I gave some homeless dude my socks and a bible and sorted him out as much as I could. I am sharing that as I got no one else to share it with, which is why I am am going to buy a small dog lol.

S+G,
If he walks down your road have you tried talking to him. What church does he belong to? What does he do with enquirers?

If he is just preaching and if he isn't interested in interacting with his listeners I suspect he is from a group like the Strict Bretheren, who believe they must preach/evangelise the world but also believe that only those chosen/elected will be saved, so they aren't interested in having enquirewsasking them question.

I could be wrong and it is nerves and poor preaching ability.

John you got that spot on actually - the church has similarities to Strict Brethren not that there are not some more chilled out Christian's stuck there not knowing why they have a headache. They need a spirit of wisdom and Brother Rambo needs to know that he is loved so he can then preach a message of love.

It is not as simple as that S+G, they know that they are loved, but don't,t believe others are as loved.

It is not as simple as that S+G, they know that they are loved, but don't,t believe others are as loved.

I quote a an old song "rather be in his world than be in my world alone"

We are all limited to our world as "our world is only about what we know or have expereince of"

The [Gladys Knight & the Pips] song suggests -
Quote
they know that they are loved, but don't,t believe others are as loved.

I have been considering this today and had this song going through my head...

Hence, when my partner dies, it will feel like a part of me is missing [or may do - depending on my relationship]

So goping really spiritual here - we make this song into a metaphor and we have = MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO GEORGIA - VIDEO
