Should Christiansbe politically active?
« on: April 09, 2018, 09:45:19 AM »
Should we seek to influence how or what laws are enacted or are in force in this country?

Is it part of our witness to encourage people to live moral lives?

Lets turn the question arround.

If it is illegal to preach the gospel or to talk about Jesus would you obey?

If this became law what would you say to someone struggling with their sexual idenity?

Of corse. If we dont have Christian politicians who stand up and say what the Bible says, we end up with the politically correct movement who support all sorts of anti Christian policies in the aim to justify sin.

Hi John
Thanks for the question it all boils down to who do we obey God or man if man's laws and commands contradict God's then we follow God's and accept the consequences.
If the powers that be made it a crime to preach the gospel then we would have to obey our Lord

.  Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come
Mat 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven

Love and Peace
Dave

When Christians abdicate voting or perhaps standing for office, they then guarantee that the country and its regions are run by servants of Satan.

Millions of ex slaves the world over should be thankful that William Wilberforce stood for political office, and spent most of his life fighting slavery.

When the slave trade prohibition act was passed, the government directed the Royal Navy to intercept any ship on the high seas suspected of carrying slaves. An excellent example of using violence to establish the will of God and set the captives free.

Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)
