Christianstogether ~ Bringing Christians together
I'm really getting busy guys and girls  and I have not got the time to moderate/admin/ communicate/ and do tech work in the early hours...

I have considered taking the site offline or due to maintenance etc or making it read only.

As my posts in the early hours are really  "gobbly gook" and nonsensical"

I remember when I first started online and I thought "how on earth will I ever find the time to do this ?"

I was working 6 days per week and 60 hours per week and the sunday was catching up with DIY at home and house work and this was after Church n the last hours of a sunday...

Now after trying to recover my business over the last few years - I find mysef in the same position...

It is my reponsibility - to keep this site safe and to moderated it - but have such limited time - that I have to admin/moderate/do tech and post  while half asleep...

But I have decided to continue ....

O hope for your support in my desicion - even though my postings as tes -  may not make sense due to my early hours postings and last minute responses .

Although I may make mistakes with tech and /or mistakes with admin or moderation... not to mention trying to post at 3am ....

Keep prodding me  and keep trying me - I still have another five - 7 years to go....

Maybe things will change and maybe they will not - who knows ...

Although I have no time ATM - maybe you might support me [in my limited time] in the early  hours - that I have left...

thankyou ...

Is difficult to know what the best answer is. I dont want you to overdo it. is there a way of just doing the basics, or are these the basics as they are?

Hi G
It is difficult to know what to say not Knowing what's entailed in running a site like this I don't have any idea about the technical side of things is there any chance you could delegate some of the work.
There dose seam to be a lot going on here I only use a small part would it be possible to amalgamate some of the parts into one would it make life easer.
Not much help I'm afraid but what all the members can do is pray that God will show you the way out of your present predicament.
You do a excellent job getting Gods word out on the net so keep up the good work I'm sure God will provide an answer.

Love and Peace

You are doing a great job and have like MG as moderator to help you out and others.  Dont take everything on ya shoulders, many hands make light work.

I dont think i've helped coming back round, i'm sorry for any hurt, confusion or anything i may have caused in the past or of late.  Much love and peace in Christ to you, wish you and yours well always.

God bless

Don't sound so desperate G, it can't be that bad.

Surprisingly, I agree with Dave here. I think it might be better to amalgamate some parts or perhaps prune some off completely.

I personally find the automatic posts completely useless trash that would be better removed as they clutter up the site. Not only do they clutter, but if a member makes a reasonable comment, before there is any follow up comment, more junk is heaped on it and the reply disappears down a black hole.
Automatic posts like the "Raise a debate-guest posts" and "News Capture" are worse than junk mail, get rid of them or limit them to one location only so we can ignore them.

Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

I think the issue with  one person responsible for each part of the forum is a good one but many who were responsible are no longer here and we have new regulars instead. Maybe this needs an update so some new people can take the helm?
It maybe an idea to simplify the site but how would this be done? Would need some thought as to what we need to cater for all needs and what is not needed.
Some of the automatic stuff (Is it automatic or does someone here find it and divert it to come here?) clearly has been written by someone who is immature in their Christian walk. The subject matter isn't the issue. Its the worldly viewpoint of the writer which causes the concern.

I feel this site is generally very beneficial. It breaks people away from the closets of denomination  traditions and into the more fullness of the Body of Christ in Ekklesia. There is a thorough and deep seeking of the truth, which I like seeing.

However, I have seen across the different forums behaviour both of the old nature and new nature. Both good and bad. Sometimes appalling in being hostile and unkind to others when truth should go hand in hand with love and friendliness.
This forum is gentle in comparison to some forums I've seen but can go off the rails sometimes but no where nearly as much as some I've seen. Hope it grows in love and friendliness. Where truth goes hand in hand with kindness and love. Lets be friendly.
