The Greek language had two different words that translate into English as 'time'. Chronos means time in the sense of 'a period of time', as in the phrases 'a long time' and 'all the time'. Kairos means time in the sense of 'a point in time', as in the phrases 'the time is now', 'the right time' and 'the time has come'.

This is just a peculiarity of Greek (or of English, depending on how you look at it)
