Do you have 100% faith in the God of today?
« on: February 01, 2018, 03:55:14 PM »
It is easy to have 100% faith in the God of History (the God of creation, the God of Israel, the God of redemption & salvation) and 100% faith in the God of the future (that when we die, our soul goes to Heaven, where we enjoy eternal fellowship with God etc). But it isn't easy to have this faith today, especially in trials & tribulations, and ones that have been going on for a period of time. We continue to pray, but there doesn't seem to be any response from God, and things continue or worsen. At this point we often make one of two choices (from a well-known phrase: fight or flight). We either decide to do something ourselves to address the situation, or we run away from it (we say to ourselves "we can't deal with this any more; we've reached the end of our tether"). Unfortunately, both of these things don't bring glory, or victory to God. In fact, it brings victory to wickedness, evil, Satan. What is the primary reason we have been put on this earth? answer: to glorify God. Throughout the scriptures God delivers His people at the last possible moment, when all hope seems lost (this gives Him the greatest amount of glory). "Be still and know that I am God". No matter what our circumstances, we must realize that it is God who put us there. Therefore, no matter how difficult it is, we must wait with patience and 100% faith in His deliverance. We often have noble ideas of things we wish to do (missionary work, Christian aid etc), but this is our will for ourselves, not God's will for us, therefore these things often fail (even things like jobs, relationships, moving home etc). We have an eternity of fellowship with God. How can we have that fellowship if we say to Him "I don't trust you completely"? He is continually working in us to have this total faith, with no doubts or murmurings, through His Holy Spirit and the truth of the gospel. It isn't easy at times, but we have to persevere, wait, and trust in Him to see us through.

Hi Mr Invisible
Thank you for your post plenty of food for thought you speak of the state of the world and it is in a pretty bad way but should we be surprised by this we have already bean told what to expect in the end times.

Mat 24:3  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Mat 24:4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Mat 24:5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8  All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Mat 24:9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Mat 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mat 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

I think the above is a very good description of the world today and the only answer to putting it right is the return of our Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory.

Thy Kingdom come the will be done on earth as it is in Heaven

Love and Peace
Dave

Has anyone ever had "100% faith" in God?

Thank God that He works with even those of 'little faith'! Even faith as small as a mustard seed can be enough...

Yes 100% faith ?

That would assume everything we believed "would become"

When in fact faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things - even a small amount of faith [like a mustard seed]

The mustard seed would be unseen and would only be evident once the plant grows and then it becomes annoying to people because they  see it as a very large plant that kind of gets in the way and restricits the view "for others"

In this life we have to trust/have faith, im God.
But that trust/faith is constantly changing, when life is good it is easy to trust God and we grow fat and lazy in our trust.

The crunch is when things get difficult and we have the choice to trust God or to reject him.
In the midst of that 'crunch' it is hard to trust God.

The question about what God we are trusting is only releventas to do we trust in God the Father and in God the Son and God the Spirit.
Any other God is false.
