Is time travelling possible?
« on: January 02, 2018, 08:32:18 PM »
Hello, you seem like you think more deeply then the average person on this website and I am just an inquisitive person.
I love Jesus and not into the occult or anything like that and please do not judge me for what I ask. Its just curiousity that I would never dabble with, other to see what folk think.
This is a subject that interests me and is in much literature including the chronicles of Narnia.
Scientiests say that it is possible to travel into the future through the speed of light but you would not be able to return.
If it was possible to go back into the past that would mean the past present and future all exist at the same time. Which ghosts seem to show wearing clothes from the past. The ghosts in the christmas carol showed the past, present and future.
Fictional yep but could it be representative of reality.
When we look at the stars we see them thousands of years away and so space seems to be the key to time travelling or time warps on the earth. Magnetic fields such as the Philadelphia experience.
Perhaps the bermuda triangle.
Some egyptians drawings of 3000 years were found with air craft such as helicopters.
Its been proposed that time travellers visited them. I do not think that but think they thought it up and it was connected to a line of prophetic thought.
What do you think about those egyptians drawings if you google them and the theories proposed about them. ?
Is a hoax
Coincidence
Guessed
Prophetic
From time travellers

Yes i believe you can time travel.  Time and space is irrelevant to the spirit therefore your spirit is not restricted by it.

Translation is also something shown in the bible.

Regarding time. This is a temporary situation by which we are governed by. Scientists assume that technology started with cave like thinking and progressed from there, but in reality, some discoveries that we have today are nothing new. For example, the remains of the ark were found to contain a titanium alloy used to make some of the bolts. In recent years the concept of using titanium as a metal wasn't possible untill 1934 as it is not an easy material to make. They have still today not found a way to make a similar titanium alloy as they found on the ark, and even if it wasn't the ark, and was another boat, it still predates the 1934 discovery by a few thousand years at the very least.
Railways were used by the Romans over 2000 years ago. Romans may not have invented them as the Romans were a collective group of the many different technologies of each successive country or tribe they took over, so many inventions accredited to them may actually have been in use prior to them and they adapted them to be used in countries that had not seen such technology before, and this is including Rome itself.
I have heard of tunnels with automatic lights run by some sort of chemical that glow as bright as electric lights. They automatically turn on when one walks near them, so lighting up the whole tunnel. The tribe which uses these tunnels said they were there before their tribe arrived there and that tribe traced its origions to a few thousand years ago.
Many inventions we see. Iron was invented before the flood. As were other metals. There is a famous sword blade made in the middle east which can't be made today as no one can work out the metallic formula to reproduce it. It is said to be so strong and sharp that it has been known to cur through stone.
Going back to the original question about time travel. It has been claimed it is possible. However, why is it only possible to jump to a future time? I am a little sceptical as when the claims have been looked into, it has been found to be mind travel and not physical body travel. In the Bible there are instances where people have suddenly been taken to different locations by God. Not time travel, but miraculous travel none the less.
It has also been known and proven for people to have suddenly travelled in this way in more recent years without mans mechanical means.
One issue with the purposeful experiments by various governments into time travel is that they have often tried delving into the realms of the occult to do this. This means that where they think they have travelled through time, it is demons taking them in the spirit to other places. It is also known as astral travel and is not something a Christian should be involved in as it involves spirit guides (Demons) where the person who is traveling needs to be delivered from these demons and set free.

To add to this further, I have to say "Are the stars as far away as scientists claim them to be?"

Well yes space time is warped by gravity.. and by light travel.

Light travels from the sun and takes 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach earth and so the  light you see and the sun you bathe in has already time travelled .

The sun you might bathe in took time to reach you as you sunbathe on the beach [this is time travel]

The moon reflects the light of the sun - but is much nearer and therefore takes @ 1.3 seconds.

So the light you see from the moon travels in tme and you see it a while  later.

Curvatures created by gravity create a time barrier - and when you may see a star is not related to when the star was born.

You only see a star in relation to light travel.

So when you look up to the stars in the sky you only see what was born - but not was is being born.

in the same way - you have no idea who will be born - but you know who is born.

Gifts of the word of knowledge and visions are about just that - seeing things before they are born .

To put it simply - it takes time to travel - God speaks but it may take a while before we hear.

It may take even longer for us to respond...

Although God has already done it - we delay God's actions...

This is time travel - God acts and we respond - some times years later...

We wake up to a new day that God knew about many years ago.

Even the sights you see  only become fact at a later date  to your eyes - as it takes time for light to travel to your retina - so what you see has already happened - before you see it.

I suppose the best example of time travel is "the news" where you hear about things that have already happened .

It is news to you - but it took  time to travel - this is time travel. @Curiousity

So in a strange way - you are always living in the past

If by tiome travel one means like Dr Who, then no. As some science fiction writers have experimented writting about time travel and the time travel paradox of altering the future by going into the past and changing it.

This idea challenges the idea that God is in control and places man is chaotic control.

As for the wild unsupported ideas of egyption helicopters, ancient lights  etc etc
The first place is to see what the 'experts' say about them.
In second place do the sites that report these 'mysteries' give references and the alternative view.

Generally they don't, one is expected to believe there unsuported claims.

Eph5v15Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

God dwells outside of time, that's how he can equally see the end from the beginning.
God created time when he created the world.

We are told to redeem the time because "the days (time) is evil".

Therefore we could conclude that when Adam sinned, time also fell along with the rest of creation.
If time didn't also fall, it would not need redeeming, and like this planet, it can only be redeemed by the blood of Christ.
Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.                     (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

Hi
The only time travel I can think of is when we sleep we go to bed in the evening have our 8 hours sleep and when we wake its an entirely different world all sorts of things have happened we know nothing about.

the same thing happens when we die or as the bible says when we sleep we may be in our grave for thousands of years but when we awake in the resurrection we enter a entirely new world that's time travel.

Love and Peace
